  • The following has just been posted on the Boots 75% discount thread, and it might explain a few things!

I was told by staff at Boots that one woman had told them she travelled 200 miles 1 week before the sale to check stock levels at all Boots in the area, made her list then went to them all and bought loads of stuff to sell on ebay. They said she made about so many trips back to her car to oad it all up it was ridiculous. She also told them that when Protect and Perfect first came out and got scarce, she went around all the Boots within a 200 mile radius and bought as much as she could lay her hands on and sold it on ebay and made £700 profit. She was quite proud to tell them she did it as a business. I think it is plain greedy. Everyone probably buys a few extras and might sell them on but to clear whole shelves and deprive everyone having a fair chance is beyond greedy I think. Really, the managers of each store should have used their sense and limited each item to 3 or 4 person. It's about time Boots organised their sales properly and fairly.

I'm not against people making abit of money but I think they should be decent about it and allow others a chance also.

I encountered someone (well a mother and daughter team) like this on the first day of the sale and what really bugged me was that there was a sweet old lady who only wanted one item and they were so greedy that they wouldn't even let her have that!

I have no problem with anyone buying one or two for themselves and ebaying one or two to cover the cost of their purchase (especially as money is tight for so many at the moment), but I HATE those greedy mares that grab everything on the shelf with the sole intent of selling on. I think that Boots should limit the items to 4 or 5 per customer, the same should apply to online orders. Tesco's have a bulk buying policy perhaps it's time MR B did?

I used to post deals on here and HDUK regularly, but got sick of posting deals only to find that greedy peeps had put in mass orders and didin't even have the courtesy to say thanks! So I stopped posting. Since finding this thread, my faith in people's kindness and generousity has been restored.
  • But if boots were to limit it to say 3 per customer, then for example there is nothing stopping me taking my mum, DF, Brother and anyone else i can think of along with me.

But if you did take the whole of your extended family along, cousins, aunts, uncles etc, and they all got 3 vanity cases each, then the rest of the shoppers wouldn't mind, cos they wouldn't know!

I dare say there are many people who do this anyway, but it's the act of seeing someone fill their trolleys with dozens of the same thing that gets peoples backs up.
  • On Wed in my store there was a woman clearing the shelfs of the no7 p&p body collection set, never thought too much of it was more interested in looking for what i wanted but now after reading this i can bet there on ebay.

Went to Bedminster today nothing much there a few Elle my everything bag, loads of mugs with cat, passport and luggage tag set and some tin buckets with sweets in? Clearance shelf loads of sun cream not much else.
  • I have a square brunette box with 5 items in, but its not Trevor Sorbie, its a John Frieda one.

I have a Trevor Sorbie make-up bag with 4 items in, and I saw a picture someone posted on the last thread of a Trevor Sorbie small rectangular box with 3 items in. Could your square brunette box be John Frieda instead of Trevor Sorbie JellyBaby?

It most certainly could ....shoot me someone. :rotfl: I saw the brunette bit and ran with it...
    :o

    ........

Sorry supernan....was trying to help, thinking if maybe it was like my glosser you could scoop it out of the bin....LOL

    .

And the odd thing is, they do limit some items! Braun had a discount deal, a third off recently. I bought a styler as a gift, in my local store, and they didn't have any cartridge refills.

So I went on dot com, and tried to order 6 packs, as they were cheap, and I got a very tart message saying "You are limited to a maximum of 3"!!!!!

You naughty girl, trying to get extra supplies of cartridges!! But if you like, you can have 99 Vanity cases!!

    Hi Sandra

It was me that posted this. The Sa's that spoke to me were quite annoyed about it. It sounded like the woman was really bragging to them also which I guess got their backs up.

Terrible thing to see what greed can do to people. I read through that thread and couldn't believe the behaviour some people had witnessed. Someone else said about 2 women with buggies who blocked the aisles with the buggies and 6 baskets to stop people getting to the shelves. One was on the phone and then 2 more of their friends turned up and blocked the other aisle with their buggies and rammed a woman who tried to step over the baskets.

I hope these people who have been greedy find that they can't sell any of it as they have over flooded the market!:T

I find this really . i don't mind people selling extra bits on eBay and I did take all what was left of a few things (mainly cooking things) but my mum genuinely wanted all of them and was so pleased and will use everything. if anyone had of asked me to give them something out of my basket i would have done. mind u saying that i passed someone a last FCUK item out of the goodness of my heart and they snatched it without saying thanks last year so i did decide if there was anything my family specifically asked for it was everywoman for herself!!!

i think people who are snatching and blocking the aisles should be chucked out personally. i dont believe they are us lot, who visit the store devotedly every week spending our hard earned cash, but instead eBayers. I hope they incur lots of eBay fees and non-paying customers lol

The one who filled her basket with all the Sanctuary stuff then got behind the till and refused to serve us because she was busy serving staff. Her words not mine:rolleyes: Sent us downstairs to pay the cheeky mare!
