I was told by staff at Boots that one woman had told them she travelled 200 miles 1 week before the sale to check stock levels at all Boots in the area, made her list then went to them all and bought loads of stuff to sell on ebay. They said she made about so many trips back to her car to oad it all up it was ridiculous. She also told them that when Protect and Perfect first came out and got scarce, she went around all the Boots within a 200 mile radius and bought as much as she could lay her hands on and sold it on ebay and made £700 profit. She was quite proud to tell them she did it as a business. I think it is plain greedy. Everyone probably buys a few extras and might sell them on but to clear whole shelves and deprive everyone having a fair chance is beyond greedy I think. Really, the managers of each store should have used their sense and limited each item to 3 or 4 person. It's about time Boots organised their sales properly and fairly.
I'm not against people making abit of money but I think they should be decent about it and allow others a chance also.
I completely agree, when i went to a local boots on Wednesday morning, a couple of people were clearing the shelves. One woman must have had at least 12 vanity cases, there were 2 left on another shelf, and as i went over to have a look at one, she grabbed those too!
I have sold the odd thing on ebay to make a bit of cash, but i wouldn't dream of taking all i can get my hands on.
A limit on items would be a fab idea.:D0 -
Speaking of people clearing whole shelves of certain products, I have just recalled how first thing in Chester one lady bought at least 20 of those Bobbypin make up sets (the ones that opened like wardrobes, lol). At the time I sort of raised an eyebrow at her bag but then thought to myself naively 'Oh maybe she's part of a Brownies group or something', but now of course it seems it would be far more likely she was buying to sell on.
I chucked one in my bag quick before she decided 20 wasn't enough!!0 -

Read earlier about the glosser leaking so opened up the set I had earmarked as a pressie for DIL. Have not used this brand before, shampoo and conditioner seemed OK but glosser was so hard to get out of the packaging that the top snapped off and left the little plastic top bit stuck in the tray. You put the glosser on after the conditioner and leave for 3 minutes, but after I rinsed it off my hair felt really tacky and difficult to comb, started to dry it but in the end decided to give it another rinse and use a Pantene sachet on it - well I do have several! Glosser is now in the bin.
Not sure if there was more than one brunette set but in the square box set I got, the Trevor Sorbie one (shampoo, cond, glosser, sachet and fixer spray) the glosser is not supposed to be washed out. It is applied like a serum, so on soaking wet hair and then left in. Alternatively you can apply a small amount to tame hair when dry if you prefer.0 -
just found a 250 points voucher in my liplicious set yay
didn't think to loook earlier;)0 -
I can't stand people who bulk buy from sales! So unfair on everyone else, and Boots really should have some sort of limit on this.
I would personally take it out of someone's basket if they had something I really wanted and were blatently bulk buying everything in sight0
