    Hi Sandra

It was me that posted this. The Sa's that spoke to me were quite annoyed about it. It sounded like the woman was really bragging to them also which I guess got their backs up.

Terrible thing to see what greed can do to people. I read through that thread and couldn't believe the behaviour some people had witnessed. Someone else said about 2 women with buggies who blocked the aisles with the buggies and 6 baskets to stop people getting to the shelves. One was on the phone and then 2 more of their friends turned up and blocked the other aisle with their buggies and rammed a woman who tried to step over the baskets.

I hope these people who have been greedy find that they can't sell any of it as they have over flooded the market!:T
Blimey, where are Boots security when you need them, that's terrible
The sale in my local was quite civilised, a lot busier than last year but everyone was very polite.

I'm pretty sure that there are organised groups like that who have been doing the same thing for years, having inside knowledge of when the sale will start. Sites like MSE alert a few more but also give the heads up to ordinary people too so at least we all have a crack at the bargains, plus we tell all our mates too.

Mr B if you're listening, how about a sales preview day for Advantage card holders, with sensible limits on how much people are allowed to buy in one go? Don't Next have something like this?

I hope some of the disgustingly greeedy people who did this are reading this now and feeling ashamed of themselves.

Have just been up in the loft - again to attack the couple of no 7 sets that I got in the 50% sale for my present stash as I felt sure I must of missed some vouchers the first time I took them apart and I was right

They are the Colour Collection ones that have a cosmetic organiser on one side of the box (you can get two types a black background with flowers and a pale one with the same) it has a compact with blushers eye shadows and lip gloss on the other side. Though I had looked in the organiser beforehad not looked behind the compact and there it was the little beauty.

So that's me sorted for next week.can't shop tomorrow as the twins manage about 30 seconds before they are bored stiff and spoil my fun, they are only 5 so am sure it wont be that long before they change their minds and head for the make up stands instead of using the place as a racetrack

Oh on the No7 stand they have the make up artist vanity case thing without the make up, just what I wanted for all my junk and you can use a blinkie on it much to the SA's amazement.

Pollsdolls sorry to hear you are under the weather, hope you feel better soon , we need you back on the front line:smileyhea

The following has just been posted on the Boots 75% discount thread, and it might explain a few things!

I was told by staff at Boots that one woman had told them she travelled 200 miles 1 week before the sale to check stock levels at all Boots in the area, made her list then went to them all and bought loads of stuff to sell on ebay. They said she made about so many trips back to her car to oad it all up it was ridiculous. She also told them that when Protect and Perfect first came out and got scarce, she went around all the Boots within a 200 mile radius and bought as much as she could lay her hands on and sold it on ebay and made £700 profit. She was quite proud to tell them she did it as a business. I think it is plain greedy. Everyone probably buys a few extras and might sell them on but to clear whole shelves and deprive everyone having a fair chance is beyond greedy I think. Really, the managers of each store should have used their sense and limited each item to 3 or 4 person. It's about time Boots organised their sales properly and fairly.

I'm not against people making abit of money but I think they should be decent about it and allow others a chance also.

I wonder if shes declaring it all to the taxman ;)
Finally, I can see you crystal clear

Well I for one will certainly be writing a strongly worded letter to the Powers That Be about this next month. I know someone on that site also mentioned that only the presence of the Police stopped other women deliberately blocking aisles at Grays!

Good luck to everyone when it comes to a sale, and it is quite possible that some people have large families and only give Boots gifts at Christmas, which they buy in the sale ........ trying to be charitable.

But when you get people bragging about the dozens of this, that and the other they bought, and that they intend to sell it on Flea Bay, a Boot Sale (as opposed to a Boots Sale!) or they're a Market Trader, you start to feel
like you have a nasty taste in your mouth.
  • I too really think the bulk buyers are disgraceful and it's SO unfair that so many of us have struggled to get even 1 of a much coveted item, let alone 10, 15, 20 of them :( There really should be a limit to how many sales items you can buy at once - it can't be that hard to implement surely  When Morrisons had the DS/Wii games on offer last year it was strictly one of each game per customer...... I don't see how difficult it would be for Boots to do something similar.

Slightly bitter I may sound (hell, yes I am bitter, not denying that :p ) but I really hope the bulk buyers find the market SO flooded and over-whelmed that they struggle to sell, I really do.
You can't control everything in life....... your hair was put on your head to remind you of that :p

Not sure if there was more than one brunette set but in the square box set I got, the Trevor Sorbie one (shampoo, cond, glosser, sachet and fixer spray) the glosser is not supposed to be washed out. It is applied like a serum, so on soaking wet hair and then left in. Alternatively you can apply a small amount to tame hair when dry if you prefer.

No sachet in my set just shampoo conditioner and glosser - instructions definitely said to wash, condition, apply glosser, leave for 3 mins and then rinse out. Have to say now my hair is dry it feels soft and silky and looks great - but maybe that's the Pantene!

Any system employed by boots to make the sales fairer will always be abused by someone somewhere.

I do think its ridiculous that people fill several trolleys full of the same thing.

I remember being in the arndale boots the day the 50% sale started the day after boxing day. There were 2 very old disabled ladies both on mobility scooters and they had 4 SA's helping them round the store they had 4 trolleys full of stuff, they werent pushy or nasty in fact they were having a whale of a time giggly between themselves and if you needed to pass they didnt block your way. It took them ages to go through the checkout. I would definately NOT begrudge this, as most big shops have a facility where staff help disabled customers.

However if i was an SA and someone who was more than able to go and fetch his/her own trolleys demanded that i went to another store and got her some i would find it very hard not to tell him/her where to get off.

But if boots were to limit it to say 3 per customer, then for example there is nothing stopping me taking my mum, DF, Brother and anyone else i can think of along with me.

Its the same with next, i have been in there were 3 /4 women are randomly filling the bags with anything and everything, blocking others and pushing some to the floor out of the way, just so others dont get anything, then they run round the corner and huddle together and hunt through it and throw out what they dont want.

Personally i dont buy anything on ebay for more than what i know it cost originally, i arent made of money, so i am not about to line other peoples pokets with my hard earnt cash just cos they were greedy. I was gobsmacked when the limited edition No7 face thingy was going for silly money on ebay.
:TIs thankful to those who have shared their :T
