  • And the odd thing is, they do limit some items! Braun had a discount deal, a third off recently. I bought a styler as a gift, in my local store, and they didn't have any cartridge refills.

So I went on dot com, and tried to order 6 packs, as they were cheap, and I got a very tart message saying "You are limited to a maximum of 3"!!!!!

You naughty girl, trying to get extra supplies of cartridges!! But if you like, you can have 99 Vanity cases!!

It's madness isn't it but maybe they were trying to save you as they thought you might be sniffing it?

Somebody on ebay is trying to sell the S&G Grab Bag for £30.00 plus £5.00 p&p  .... It was only £18.00 before the sale, and £12.00 on the 342 offer. And if they bought it in the 75% sale it was £4.41, so a pretty high mark up whichever way you look at it.

I have no objections to people selling surplus glitch stock on ebay, at the end of the day we're all victims of the current credit crunch and every penny helps, but to rip people off like that and to deprive regular Boots shoppers of a bargain out of pure greed is just wrong. As I think Scarlett said, I hope they are stuck with the stuff because the market is flooded with it.
  • Could i ask you kind Boootsers for some advice. My son is having driving lessons, he is geting himself into such a state before the lesson, i am sure i have read about some ? bachs tablets sold in boots that have a calming effect..any advice is so greatly recieved.

I tried to use up my 250 points No7 vouchers today wth reduced items and the till beeped with all of the them:confused: maybe we should start a list on which reduced items you can use the points vouchers on?

For those of you wanting blinkies without actually spending £5, try using the SS tills. I only spent £1 and got a blinkie. The SA was standing near by with a wad in his hand and I went up to him and asked for one. I did a mimi pout for effect and it worked;) He didn't even ask to see my reciept:DI also got one the other day on a few pence spend on ss tills:D

only problem with all the bulk buying of sale items with shops being squeezed so tight is that they won't care who buys what as long as the money is in the till. I bought shed loads of stuff in the sale but never took loads of the same things etc, my sister has been round and picked her stuff for xmas presents for this year i have put some aside as well, so i am happy about that, but i do agree the people clearing out all the p+p sets in one haul is wrong, i managed to get one, it was the last on hte shelf and had a ripped off label no points coupon and no serum, so i went and got a serum from the shelf, so i had a complete item, maybe that was wrong to do, but if i didn't someone else would have - so the manager told me :D

i know that is wrong but they want to shift it quick and they don't even need to advertise the 75% as we do it for them.................
coupon over here, coupon over there, every crack filled with coupons even down there
    (meaning under the buggy lol):D
  • I encountered someone (well a mother and daughter team) like this on the first day of the sale and what really bugged me was that there was a sweet old lady who only wanted one item and they were so greedy that they wouldn't even let her have that!

How rude!! I would've grabbed it off them and given it to the old lady. Likewise, I would have kicked any baskets that were blocking aisles out of the way. I'm not sounding too 'sophisticated' tonight am I!!! :rotfl:

There's nothing wrong with the odd ebay and buying extra for presents but someone people take the p. The frustrating thing is we probably let a lot of these women (and men?!) know about the sale through this thread.

Back on topic...has anyone spoke to CS today and got any news about when .com will work again? Clutching at straws I know! (Is that even the saying???)
  • Nothing wrong at all with feeling bitter Scarlett.1974 - especially if you're one of our clan who really really wanted a Something, that was in the dot com 75% sale, had her order messed up, and couldn't get to the shops to get one.

Obviously the biggest mark-up for selling for these people is the highest priced and most popular item. I am now feeling evil, especially after I saw the white vanity case on ebay for £30!!!

And peeps have obviously broken up the Mediterranean set that went for £2.50, and are selling the contents individually, for a higher mark up.

No, Boots is supposed to be a retailer, not a wholesaler. We shall fight them in the aisles ....... we shall fight them in the lifts ........ well, I don't know about fight, but I shall certainly give them my Pursed Lips look!! Then run!

Lol @ giving them the Pursed Lips look and then legging it :rotfl:

<sob> it was the P&P vanity case that I really wanted <sniff> and I couldn't even place an order on .com on Wednesday morning (kept freezing & crashing on me :() so off to my local store I went at about 9.45am and I was told they were all gone. By the time I got back here Wednesday afternoon the sale had been taken off :( <sniff again> On principle I will NOT pay the silly ebay prices for one, I'm not quite that desperate for one ;)
You can't control everything in life....... your hair was put on your head to remind you of that :p

that is so true sarah skint! I don't think there will be a 90% off sale this year. All they have left in the stores I've been into is a nasty looking santa, xmas cards and wrapping paper:rolleyes:
