Rules for ending three contract?

hi lady_K...yup my contract was with 3.
My situation was that I'd originally requested to end my contract on 6th Oct via their '333' helpline. This was agreed upon and i received the aformentioned termination letter from 3 confirming my last day to be the 6th Oct. However, on the 6th (as well as 7th) of Oct, i noticed i could still receive and make calls!!! Called '333' and was told that, due to a technical mix-up, the last day of my contract was erroneously keyed-in as 6th NOV.
anyways, they promised not to charge me any line rental for the extra month provided i didn't use any of their services. long story short, i kept to my side of the bargain, they didn't...thankfully i used the termination letter as proof and wrote a formal complaint to their executive office. (well, their exec office promised to sort things out, but now i've got debt collectors sent by 3 warning me about that fateful last bill....its turning into a soap opera i tell you, but a story for another day)
to your other question....say if you've missed the 30-day advanced notice cut-off by X days...your revised date of termination should be 24th Feb + X days
hope this helps and all the best!0 -
errm, it's me again=)
don't get me wrong, i know it certainly sounds like it, but i don't think 3 are really that bad....moreover the stunning cashback deals offered on 3's tariffs exonerate them of most wrongdoings in my opinion (and that's why I've re-upped with them)
i've been trying to get my head round PAC codes and porting too. The geist is: (someone pls correct me if i'm wrong)
1) your PAC code is VALID from the 7th to the 37th day from the date of issue [ie if issued on 1st Jan, the new network will process PAC anytime from 7th Jan to 6th Feb...even if you submitted the PAC the day it's issued, it'll still be processed no earlier than the 7th];
2) you need to still be with your old provider when the number transfer occurs
also...if u're adamant about leaving 3...then submit your termination request ASAP. that'll still give you 30 days to hunt for deals; and if you can't find any, 3 gives you the option of 'undoing' your termination, provided the date of termination hasn't passed0 -
Do you think I should ring them back again and ask if they have me down for definite to end the contract on 24th feb? even though they have given me the pac code
Its just I know what a mess 3g can make of things and I really didnt want it to roll over to another month
I'll probably get another phone for then anyway but what would happen if I hadnt got a new phone exactly by the 24th and they did end the contract anyway as I asked can I still use the pac code? they issued it to me yesterday but strangely he told me I could use it up to the 24th not sure if he knew what he was talking about though
I mean I know it takes about a week to go through but say if I got a phone on 24th feb and they also ended my contract on 24th as I have requested not to continue the contract will that work?Thanx

Hi, just wondering if anybody has tried to end the contract with 3 early?
I originally bought the phone as i was self employed, but now have a job and don't need the phone at £60 per month!
originally this was supposed to be £9.99
the cashback deal was subject to terms and conditions which were impossible to locate, and customer services were hopeless when contacted.
When i asked them to cancel my deal so that i could use a pay as you go phone, they said the only way was to cancel and pay the remaining 12 months worth of contract in one lump sum!
If anyone can help it would be very much appreciatedLabel on a pack of Huggies nappies:

Just ask them to convert the phone to PAYG on 24 February, then you can request the PAC at anytime thereafter without worrying if it will incur charges.0 -

Can you ask them to downgrade the tariff for the remainder of the contract? Have you had all of the cashbacks from whoeveer you set the deal up with? Who did you set it up with?0 -
I set up with the link online, I have not had all the cashbacks as i couldn't find the forms initially, after quite some time spent calling 3 and the link i found the forms online, only to discover that you only have 30 days after the last bill date to send it in!
I have sent it anyway hoping to get something back,
they did offer me the cheapest tarrif of £20 per month but i sense more hidden prices in there somewhere.
my budget is so tight at the minute that i really can't afford the £50 - £60 per month and waiting for further cashbacks to arrive.Label on a pack of Huggies nappies:

Hi all,
my contract with '3' is also coming to the end soon , if convert to PAYG, what is the minimum amount to put in and will it expire after certain period?
thanks0 -

My contract with 3 ended in December. I converted it to PAYG, but didn't put any money on it. Therefore, I can receive, but not make calls.
You can put a minimum of £10 on the pone to top it up. It has no expiry date.0 -

If the contract was setup with The Link, then you will surely be bound to its terms and conditions? That may well mean that you have to remain on your current tariff, or that you are prevented from downgrading the tariff for a given period. That period might be for the whole or for part of the contract period. You need to tell us the detail of the contract before we can properly advise you. Also, we need to know how far you are into the contract, how long the contract is, how many cashbacks are inolved and how many you have had thus far.0
