Yes you can have 1 each.
  • I used to use Clubcard Plus properly for my regular spends at Tesco, but when I found I wasn't using Tesco as much I reduced my monthly input to £1 per month. I accidentally overspent on my card.. thinking that they'd stop me if I didn't have sufficient funds, but have never been charged interest. It was only about £20 and when I asked they said they had an 'embarrassment' fund or something, so I wasn't refused and I have just gradually cleared it £1 a month.
No big deal, maybe, but I'd have expected to be hammered.:T

Ok I have just rung them up for a form.

Please can someone tell me when I go through the till do I hand over my ordinary blue clubcard first and then later the green Tesco clubcard plus at the actuall point of paying? I think I read somewhere that for the Tesco computer to compile a list of what you have bought it needs to read the blue card first before any items are scanned.

(I am assuming the Tesco clubcard plus card is green????!!!!)

Would I then get points on both cards or if I used both or would I just get points on the clubcard plus card.

I am just about to go over to Powergen so which Tesco card do I register with them - my ordinary blue card or the Clubcard plus card for double points?

How often do you get a Tesco clubcard plus statement - is it every month or quarterly? And how often does it comes with points mailings?

It sounds like it also might be worth having a Tesco credit card just to get the mailings. How often do the mailings arrive and what sort of things come with them? Do you have to have a minimum spand or usage to get the mailings? I am thinking of maybe just using the card once a month to keep it valid but I want to make sure I spend enough to get a mailing.

Apologies in advance for all the questions!

It is a green card and you just hand that over at the till for points and payment. You would get points on the green card and it only shows as 1 point for £1.00. You will get a Clubcard Plus statement every month and the point mailing every three months . When you get the mailings the Clubcard Plus points will then show as double points. I am not sure you need a Tesco Credit Card to get mailings. Any more questions please ask. I have had mine about 1 year and have just booked my holiday withCosmos and got £475.00 off by using my Clubcard Deals!! Go for it !!

agree with rose's post above...have had mine since the application processed in jan last year (which is when I first posted OP on MSE and am really confused as to why the thread has resprung 18 months later!!!)

however...just to cover the remaining questions too mhoc

    1) you won't get powergen double points on clubcard plus, so use either your old blue or new green to register with them.

    2) there's no minimum spend or minimum to transfer into clubcard plus to keep it active or to get mailings. however, you'll be missing out on points if you only keep it active with a minimum.

to make my clubcard plus work hard I get money out of my current account at the Tesco cashpoint of about the amount I'm going to spend in store (say £60), immediately pay it into my clubcard plus account at CS desk, then shop as normal and pay on clubcard plus. double points on every shop that way. If it's more than I expected I just pay £60 on clubcard plus and pay for rest using another payment method.

But don't merge the accounts as you'll get 2 clubcard mailings...and don't forget to join all the Tesco clubs on your new clubcard plus account.

You have worked out that clubcard plus ISN'T a credit card? In our house we have a tesco credit card for all spends everywhere non-Tesco and clubcard plus to spend in Tesco and petrol station to ensure most points possible achieved.

    Hi Rose,

Good on you for the holiday...great feeling, isn't it? :T however, just be wary when part paying with Cosmos as it may not be worth using your vouchers. Always worth checking the non clubcard price and the same holiday for different companies before buying with cosmos as for your specific situation it could be you could get a better deal.

First part of my post here explains why

Thinking about getting one but have some questions

1 - I presume reading this if I pay say £200 per month on this card via direct debit i do not get points on that? So I assume that instead I should just take my 200 into the store and get the customer service desk to load it. That is how you get one set of points is it?

2 - I read somewhere its double points. Is this on your shopping or is it cos you get points when you load it and then points again when you spend it? see above!

3 - Can i use it on online shop.

4 - its been said on here do not merge your existing clubcard account with the clubcard plus one, Why? So would it be worth me getting the plus account in my partners name and then joining all the clubs we are already in in his name linked to the plus account.

    I only want the points!!!!

Thank you experts in advance X

Either DD or CSdesk will put the money into your clubcard plus account. If you DD, you'll get less interest in the Clubcard plus account than a good savings account, so I put my money in at CS desk before shopping, with a DD of £50 per month. You get the points when your shopping or petrol goes through the till and you pay using your clubcard plus card. Doesn't matter how the money gets on the card, it's the spending it in store that gets you the double points.

When you spend, your shopping gets double points

    yes

yes-don't merge...that way you'll get 2 statements, therefore 2 sets of extra points vouchers that you normally get with your statement. And join all the clubs again.

    I only want the points!!!!

    Thankyou for that!

Will find the number and give them a ring to get a card, only going to put on there each month what I would use for shopping so not looking for a savings account and direct debit for an amount once i get paid will be good!
