I really want one but cant pay for one till friday
I live in Surrey so assume all ones around here have gone or will be gone by then.
I'm afraid that I can't tell you where in Surrey has them, but to save a wasted journey can confirm that Burgh Heath (Tadworth), Sutton and Wallington have all sold out.
Given the supply and demand situation, and that people are having issues getting them at the moment - it seams highly unlikly there will be any left on Friday .... IMHO - if you do find a store that has one before then - I'd try to raise the cash - it won't be there for long !!0 -
Someone on HUKD reckons they have some in Oldham if you fancy a drive.....0

I'm going to house sit for a few days where they only have dial-up, can anyone recommend an external modem that will work with this netbook? I've looked at Acer aspire one forum but the discussion on this subject is too technical for me. All I want to do is plug the modem in and (assume) get it's linux driver/software from the internet.
Thanks for any replies.
why not buy an o2 PAYG USB dongle for £30 then pay only £2 per day (500MB) or 7.50 for a weeks 3g/hsdpa/gprs/wireless access0 -

I've the LG Slimline external drive you can get it for just under £50 from PCworld and Currys (online), DVD/CD reader/writer - powered from the USB port. Its a nice looking unit that works well. You can buy a version that supports lightscribe, but the disks cost more!
The unit works perfectly on the AA1, running Linux or XP. On Linux I used the Free Baker software (from the Acer support website), or on XP the version of Nero that comes with the LG works perfectly.0 -
max did you get it from asda at yorkgate like I said? mine says 120 on box but is definitely 160 I reformatted it the other night and put xp on it so I know its definitely 160gb!Right, I just called from my mobile. The one where I got it from said they have 2 left in stock, but they can't reserve them until Friday. She did say they'll get more in stock though. Mine is a 120GB btw, not 160. But still a good deal.Norn Iron Club Member #64
