1. It seems to scroll very slowly on some web pages if you scroll using the side bar.
2. Video but no sound from the web cam. I called up Acer support and the guy there said it's not a fault - that's how it's been set-up.
That aside everything else seems ok - only using it for web really.
One good thing though - it powers up very quickly and I inserted my Orange USB225 modem to see if it would work and it loaded up in record time - I can now also surf via that as well as wireless.
TBH I have really been looking to get the Samsung NC10 - however at this price the Acer is pretty good value.
Hi all,
with reference to point 2 above - does the webcam work with Yahoo messenger with sound, I speak to my friends in America and like to speak to them via this. (im running Xp by the way, if this makes any difference)
If as above the sound doesnt work with the webcam is there a way to get it working?
Cheers.0 -

Cheers. If I was still in Warrington (which I originally intended to be) I'd have popped over.
Unfortunately, I'm back darn sarf!0 -

I installed Skype and the sound and Video were very good. I've used high video conference at work, and Skype on the Acer was very good. The microphone is at the top of the screen near the web cam so the sound of the hard disk and fan are not a problem!
The audio playback is excellent, the screen is amazingly clear for web and word processing.
Youtube plays well as does the BBC iPlayer.
I'm using Linux (that came with the machine) but I've updated to Firefox3 and open office 3 and added Skype.
Great machine, still cant get VLC installed
Scrolling web pages seem fine. Let me know which pages are slow I'll give it a try.Seth.0 -

I've been looking for a week (and phoning) and just not getting anywhere.
Anyone find any stock in Milton Keynes area, LMK!
So far, stores visited include Farnborough, Slough, Hemel, MK, Warrington (both) and Hatfield.

What's the conclusion regarding using one of these with AOL?
Is there an issue or is it related to the router?0 -

Earlier posts provide details / confirmation - wireless connection to AOL.
There are no issues, providing you know the SSID (network name) and the Key (aka passcode), you can connect without issue.0 -

Exactly, the Acer is connecting to the router, not to AOL. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0
