INSTALLING fIREFOX 3."I had the same problem this is what I did
- Download the software
- Select the option to extract the files and select the download directory was the place to put the extracted files
- Then in the ACER Start page select Files, My Documents, and select the download folder
- In the download folder you will see the installer script, just double click to run this"
Ha ha!!!! I've done it! I followed a set of instructions and it worked no problem!

People might be interested to know this thing isn't too bad at playing games that are a generation or two out of date.
I've got it running Quake 3 fullscreen @ 1024x600, maximum detail, 40-60fps - perfectly playable! (if you have a mouse ofcourse)
This is under XP, using the drivers from the Intel site rather than the ones provided by Acer (though I don't think it matters a great deal, they both support OpenGL)
I'd be interested to hear how it runs under Linux, for those who have stayed with Linpus.0 -
I'd agree, a mouse might be an essential purchase until you get used to the (rather sudden) track pad... also those 'side' buttons take a bit of getting used to also. But it's all in the name of saving space - it's still a miniature marvel0

they have them in brighton marina - the guy originally said they had 6 but when i got there he seemed to think there were plenty - 160gb version
thankyou to OP !
(ps just noticed on hduk they say out of stock in brighton - not sure if they mean carden avenue or marina - worth calling before making a trip)0 -

It is usually about £200 okay its more than the acer but it has xp already installed and you get a good package with it. plus with aldi you get a 3 year warranty which is very good, often they send you a new piece and you send the defective one back!
The laptop that aldi are advertising this week is crap! dont buy it!Wins: £400 (Win O’Clock)0 -

Here is a review of the Medion Mini E1210, note this is an MSI Wind with a few tweaks. If you want a cheap MSI Wind without tweaks the Advent 4211 (the same unit rebadged)

Will a HP printer connect to this? How would you install software for printer?
The is an add printer button under settings, it allows you to add a printer, even networked ones.
Remember you can also print to PDF and attach the PDf to an email or copy the PDF to another machine to print.
There is a set of instructions on an HP printer here:

RDP instructions here if anyone wants remote access

If anyone wants to RDP to a remote desktop this is how it can be done:

Hope this helps.Seth.0 -
There are a number of videos on YouTube showing the RAM upgrade process.
I found this one to be the best and showing the most detail.
