Are you suggesting all public spending is on benefits?
Surely not - nobody is that daft, are they?

of course not. People who work hard and dont have kids get nothing but why should people who never have worked (due to choice) get everything paid for them0

So they don't drive their cars on roads, use the library, doctors, hospitals etc? Must be an unusual way to live!0 -
im not talking about public services I am talking about benfits. Also I dont use the library i buy books also I pay for my health care as well as paying NI0

even if you drive you get stung for more money
people who dont or cant work where i live get free travell on the busses
even better if they are a single parent
my wife and i have paid loads in tax and ni in our working life
never been unemployed
my wife has just finished work before our 2nd child is born
(4 days before her due date)
and what do we get for losing her £25000 a year wages about 8 quid a week
no help with nursery fees
i am thinking of giving up work just to try and get some more money back

You have a strange idea of what "nothing" is!princessl84 wrote: »of course not. People who work hard and dont have kids get nothing but why should people who never have worked (due to choice) get everything paid for them
People in employment get a salary to do what they like with, they get a career, perhaps even doing something they enjoy, they get paid holiday time, they get sick pay/SSP, paid maternity and paternity leave (when they decide to have kids) and they don't get slagged off for being "scroungers"... so how is that "nothing"?!
Perhaps you should learn to be grateful for what you DO have rather than begrudging other people their benefits, whether rightfully or wrongfully claimed... :rolleyes:If I don't respond to your posts, it's probably because you're on my 'Ignore' list.0 -

Why should one not begrudge? How can you justify a family of four being given to live on eight or nine times the amount of money a single working person has? Why not reduce the benefits to the family with children and tell them to learn to be grateful for what they have?0 -

So where you live, there's no doctors, no hospitals, no roads, no street lighting, no bin emptying, no police, no firebrigade, no social services, no government etc etc etc and everywhere you ever go to, non of these exist?Conor
