If you've got some places that don't get just about any direct sunlight, one possiblity might be growing mushrooms? I don't know how easy it would be or how you'd go about it, but just thought as many of them grow in dense woodland it was worth a mention in this thread.TOP MONEYSAVING TIP
Make your own Pot Noodles using a flower pot, sawdust and some old shoe laces. Pour in boiling water, stir then allow to stand for two minutes before taking one mouthful, and throwing away. Just like the real thing!0 -
Not fond of mushrooms, prob just as well as one of my dogs eats them on walks, he would think I am growing them for him! Hence why strawberries are grown in baskets, might even try the tomatoes in baskets this year as I kept finding him nicking them, will def do rhubarb tho, and beetroot, just love beetroot and philadelphia sandwiches made with fresh baked bread!0

Did you use one of those box kits? I haven't heard any good reports about them.
I think it would take a bit of effort/research to find out which varieties were suitable to the area you had in mind... live tree or dead wood, type of tree or wood, light or shade etc. also, having had a quick look, it can take a long time (up to 2 years) for some mushrooms to start growing after plugging, so you need to be committed and patient, but once you've got them growing, you've got them for years.TOP MONEYSAVING TIP
