IB medical assessment
Comments
-
Ive received the medical assessment report today, what can I say really. Theres things in there I havent said, and when I said "sometimes" meaning rarely, she has put "usually".
I was apparently not depressed throughout the medical, yet I was in tears before, during and after..
Apparently I like to watch the news and daytime TV.. well.. I hate the news and Im very rarely up to watch daytime tv since my sleep pattern is so erratic.
I apparently get out of bed without difficulty, so why is it most days my Husband has to physically drag me out to get me up?
One thing that has got to me is she has put that I am upset about my family moving as I dont get to see my mum often.. Well what about the rest of my family that I dont see? She says I "see family most weeks" Well I damn well wish I did! I havent seen my dad, grandparents and brother since December and I havent seen cousins etc since September.. how is that most weeks? I dont understand.
Well at least now I know what has been put on the report and can argue against it.
Oh, she also put that my condition should improve significantly within 3 months.. quite some diagnosis right? For someone who has had this problem for 5-6 years now :mad:Weight loss November 09-January 10: [STRIKE]13lbs[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]20lbs[/STRIKE] 27lbs! :j0 -
sounds like same report i got for my first medical even down to the should significantly improve in 3 months  how would they know???? if your seeing countless other health professionals who are struggling to help you control your condition how can a peson from Athos see you once and proclaim you will be better in 3 months they get my goat really do0

It seems an unfair way of doing things I know they have to weed out the ones who can work but who is monitoring these people to assure you that their own personal views are not comming into their decision making.
For example what if this nurse had read your file and decided that in her mind what ever you were claiming for wasnt a "real reason to not work" and from that point on her mind was set she pictures someone who in her mind needs to just get on with it before you have even set foot in the room. Otherwise why would she need to have an attitude with you like in your case honeyD if she was just filling in a report there would be no need for her to give you smart alec comments unless she had in her mind already decided the way she was going. It would also explain how she "interpreted" your replies to her way of thinking. I hope this makes sense Im not to with it tonight and dont feel like i explain things well when like this.
They should write to our doctors and specialists if a GP hasnt referred a patient on long term sick he should be asked why not and then possibly that person should be assesed by medical but if they have been referred to other specialist they should be contacted and then bring on the IB50/medical if they still not happy with the replies.0 -
Trouble is it is very easy to get onto IB or ESA now. All you actually need is a few sick certificates from the doctor and a decent NI contribution history. I know absolutely that I could go to my GP with symptoms indicative of a depressive type ailment, cry a bit and be convincing enough to get medical certificates.
A few months down the line I could get called for a medical. This is a bit annoying as I have been getting the benefit now for month/years etc so therefore I must be entitled. A lot of people confuse getting the benefit with entitlement. It is up to the Health Care Professionals employed by ATOS to decide true entitlement and it must be assumed that they see a fair few people that they consider are not too ill to work.
By all means appeal if you think you have been unfairly treated, but the goal posts have been moved with ESA and it is no longer a 'blanket' unfit for ANY work ruling.0 -
well said KK , its hard enough for the real ill people to get anythingthe truth is out there ... on these pages !!0

I have one to go to on March the 10th, and I'm not too worried about the actuall test..It's getting there thats worrying me.
They refused point blank when I asked if I could go in a Taxi as my medical complaint would not allow travel on bus or walking. The appointment is 20 miles away in a large town, and the medical centre is on the outskirts of the town making it three bus changes just to get there.
My sister is comeing with me for moral support and I'm going to have to pay for her fairs if we bus it to the meeting.
It's all about bad timeing really, If my DLA claim had'nt been taking so long I might have had help in getting to this medical..yer never know your luck..
oh, well, good luck to those still waiting for there results, hope you all get what you deserve..:j0 -

I think honeyd has been on it for years too so what makes you more entitled to it than she is?
What is it your claiming it for?Wins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.0
