  • i called the main department who deals with my claims in my case its carlise all your original paperwork should have the number on ie the letters agreeing your claim they send you a letter with your cheque each fortnight but are not helpful enough to put the number on it are they, if not call your local job centre and they will give you the number to call.

They are very lax with paperwork and Im not sure if its just the norm or if some of it is on purpose to try and make you chase them about to see how compus mentus you really are that may just be the paranoid person in me at the moment though Im wary of everyone

if you in cumbria ill post carlise number later for you if you want just let me know will be back about this pm if not in morning

    Thanks but not in Cumbria.
I guess if you are paranoid then I must be too as I think the same, what if I call and they think something of it. Im just sick of worrying!

  • its horrible isnt it also I feel a lot of guilt, if I have a good day I feel guilty that Im having a good day and can do a bit more for myself, on a bad day I feel guilty for all the relying Im doing on my family and friends.

I dont ever get into major conversations with the job centre thou mainly because I dont want to be on the phone in the first place and just want to get it over and done with and because I know they log every call on your file I just wish they weren't so incompetent half the time

It depends how busy they are but it can be 2 or 3 months or longer.

This has got to be one of the most stressful things I have ever gone / going through not knowing whats going to happen! Ive never claimed any sort of benefit before as I have worked continously since 15 until 1.5 years ago and I find it shameful telling my family im on IB. Do they think we would put ourselves through this if we were well enough to work? Its not as though IB is a large amount each week so we would be better off working
