    Hi everone,

Moggins, good to see you back, but sorry for the reason. Do you ever hear from Kazonline, she's another old stalwart I miss?

    Sue

Oh yes, Kaz and I are firmly in touch, I pop down and spend the weekend with her about twice a year, she has been my saviour at some of the worst times in my life. It was her I ran to when XH dumped me for another woman.
  • Evening all :hello:
Lovely sunny day here today. Usual Wednesday routine of visiting Mother and taking her shopping. Although did also build in a visit to Boots sale after failing to make purchases on line due to their rubbish web site. They must have lost a lot of sales today but even more importantly lost a lot of goodwill. On the plus side I was able to spend points instead of money :D

Going to have a quick catch up on the thread, hugs to all who have needed them today.

Been MIA, went away overnight after work yesterday. Got back early evening and then did a pedicure. Not had chance to catch up with the threads from yesterday and today.

OS? Well, went to the market in Northallerton this morning and got some fruit, veg and eggs at good prices, will have to alter the meal plan to accommodate. Got a 500g Fermipan, which I will need soon and a kg tub of peanut butter, which has peanuts and salt. That's all. There was one that had not salt OR sugar, but I thought that was taking it a bit far!

ALso got some reduced price box of chocs from the new Lakeland there, well within date, for raffle prizes or presents.

Spent some of my Christmas money now, got Nella's Last War from Amazon, which was here when I got back and also a Pashmina on the market. Reduced from £15 to £10. My friend noticed some pulled threads, so it was further reduced to £5!

Lakeland let me down over my sale purchases, that I ordered on Xmas Eve. COmputer messup or something. I have been sent a voucher for £20, which is better than nothing, but the savings on the purchases I was making amounted to about £30! Still, will be able to get something for a gift or for myself. The voucher hadn't arrived in time for me to use it today of course!

Right, gonna have a quick scan of today's thread, don't think I have the stamina for yesterday too. Don't normally work on a Thursday, but it's staff training tomorrow and an earlyish start.

Marie - hope your cat gets to come and spend some time at home with you(((hugs))) x
    Do what you love :happyhear
  • [However, as he can't say 'milk' or 'bottle' (I always hold it up and say 'milk' and he looks at me as if to say, yes, I know, give!) if I don't have anything around that he can point at I will be fine. I will have to change my routine a tiny bit, but I think that will be better for him.]

H just wanted to say that as I mentioned on the thread you started our DS had delayed speach and one thing I learnt was that even if I knew he wanted milk I got into the habit of giving him a choice water or milk and found after a while he had to start trying to say milk or he wouldn't get it. Don't get me wrong it was a nightmare he would throw cups, scream kick but I had to learn to be tough and you know what it worked he caught on. I started by helping him by saying the first part of the word for him. Another thing is make sure you are at his eye level when you are communicating with him it may sound simple but it really helps. Appologies if you are already trying these things.

Well OS wise had left over chicken with rice for dinner and got lots of washings done today.

  • Marie - hope Luca goes on ok. 11 isn't that old, perhaps, if they can sort out the right treatment, he will have many years back home with you.
I know what you mean about spending a fortune on tests, our oldest cat, Amy, is 13 and has a throat problem. Initial investigations cost over £200 a couple of years ago, since then she has needed an injection every 3 weeks or so, these cost £23. Our furry friends are not certainly not cheap but we love them so we do our very best for them.
