Morning all,
Hugs to anyone in need or want and congratulations to all who are celebrating, welcome to any newbies.
Redruby....can't believe that verdict...too much thought given to rights of criminals and perverts, in my opinion, all over these islands.
Plasterers here this morning to plaster kitchen ceiling and part of a wall that needed doing after kitchen re-fit....can then get to painting, but nothing will be done in kitchen to-day...may even have take-away for dinner, paid for out of refurbishment budget...not much left there now, but we can manage dinner I think!
Windy and damp here at present, thought we were to have frost last night, but none, pink sky this morning so we will no doubt have some more rain...just hearing forecast...persistent heavy rain coming from the west ....great!
Taking cat to vet at 11, he is not well, losing weight although eating lots, wheezing since yesterday...not sure prognosis will be good as he is almost thirteen.
Have a good day all

Redruby - so sorry to hear the outcome. Unfairness like that is so wrong. The only straw I can clutch at is that perhaps the shock of being taken to court will make the abuser think twice and protect some other innocent soul.
It is cold in the house at the moment, and I daren't put the heating on. On one hand I am really not sure that the hot water tank should whistle and hiss as it has, on the other hand a nice man is coming to look at it some time this afternoon and I don't want it too hot for him to look at. Evil cat is not happy at this.
I really need to leap into action, but I'm not. If we are going to sell the house I need to have a really good clean - but I'm just sitting here looking at the mountainous task ahead. So I am going to break it down into smaller chunks, and this morning I am going to try and get some more things on ebay, three day auction, just to get things moving out.
Of course, decluttering and cleaning can only take you so far when there is plaster falling off the walls. Also I think dear heart is a bit more optimistic than I about selling the dratted place. He says that a house will sell, even with a few problems.
Little bear is upstairs and into mischief. I can't wait to find out what. If he was less exhausted I would go up and check, but I am desperate for him to nap - he was nodding over his toast :rolleyes:Ankh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0 -
Morning all .............(((((((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))))) if you need one..
Its a very murky, foggy, icy morning, just hope it does not affect the transport coming to take us to the Hospital for OH's scan appointment at lunchtime. He was DD free again yesterday.......see what today brings....
After my spending spree yesterday I will be having a no spend day today. Cannot affort to spend like that every day would soon be in the bankruptcy court!!! Mind you it will be interesting to see how long it is before people realise we have a new car, its the same colour as the old one, but a different shape.
This is also the third dark green car we have bought, the first one was an Octavia to pull the caravan, when we changed it we bought the small green Fabia, it took a few weeks at the allotment before someone said to OH ' have you changed your car? OH looked him in the eye and said 'well actually we left it out in the rain and it shrank'!!! LOL The chaps face was a picture...............
Right OH has just appeared so better go and do his bacon sarnie, will have to take a flask and a couple of cereal bars with me, his appointment is for lunch time.
Gammon creamed spuds and beans for supper tonight........Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
Morning all!
Ruby - what awful news, may the man concerned get exactly what he deserves in life. I hope that your nephew is able to move on now that the case is over x
Hilstep - lol at the men going to the wrong house! Perhaps redeployment will be a fantastic new start, it may not be what you originally hoped for, but at least you won't have to fight with the head and sometimes these things have a way of working out well.
Thriftlady - thanks for the trouser info, my 3 eldest all need new school trousers, and like you I like the adjustable kids waists, my lot are all skinny as well, no idea why given how much they all eat!
Cold again here, was just getting used to it warming up as well! Foggy, but it seems to be getting brighter, so hopefully the sun will appear and my washing will dry!
OS wise, wm is on, bm is making rolls (did a loaf when I got in from work, so it was just ready for breakfast), yet more yoghurt is in the flask, pots washed, kitchen swished and swiped, and hoovering done.
Lunch for kids was hm cheese rolls, carrot sticks (bit of a lack of fruit here today!), raisins, hm choc cake, hm yoghurt/fruit jelly, and a flask of carrot soup. Will be soup for me, made a huge batch of carrot soup in the sc yesterday.
Dinner will be cottage pie, cooked it on Monday so just need to pop in the moski to heat and crisp on top, and cabbage and carrots (anyone guessed that I bought a lot when they were on offer lol).
Bought a couple of caulis reduced to 10p last night, nearly fell over when I saw the original price was £1.18 EACH, that's EACH! They aren't even big ones! Will do them in cheese sauce tomorrow, over a bed of sliced potatoes and onions, will go nicely with the chicken pies that are on the menu plan.
Had friends pop in yesterday afternoon, so twinks are looking a bit low, think a bit of baking will be needed! Friend popping over at lunchtime as well, so will have to find out if he needs feeding or not, have so much soup that it's not a big problem lol!
Just arranging to pop into town with a pal on Friday, Kathlicos I shall be seeing what is left in the Boots sale! Usually manage to pick up bits for party bags or for the girls to use as pressies through the year, often get the men's gift sets for ds as well, as they are usually cheaper than buying the individual body sprays (I have a big rattan box at the end of my bed full of toiletries, all from boots sales and points and bargain offer, and from when Tesco used to have the money off leaflets!). Friend has just texted me to say that there isn't a lot of town left, seems shops are closing an alarming rate! Poundland is still there though!
Right, time for another cuppa and a surf, and probably best get dressed as well! Have a good day all and hugs to those who need them xxGC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -
Hi All,
I have been away for a long time. Life outside the virtual world has kind of taken over. Had a very jolly festive time with my parents but now it's all back to normal. I am sure everyone was feeling the strain last week being back to work.
Had some super news though, OH has been promoted which means a big payrise. Although he does go offshore for 3 weeks this trip so he can fully get started in the new role. Very chuffed though as it is a small sacrifice to make. Feel blessed considering so many have lost or will potentially lose their jobs.
We are in the early stages of house buying now so every penny counts. I am going to use the next 3 weeks to fully train myself in the use my new Slow Cooker and the art OS!! I have pledged to myslef to be fully OS this year with all the extra money going towards the new place.
All you chaps on here continually shine the light of hope in this economic nightmare, love to all.
Have a great day everyone, big hugs to everyone who needs them, CHIN UP!
p.s It's great to be back, missed you all!Spreading the gospel that is Martin Lewis to the future generation....I'm a Home Economics Teacher and being thrifty is the way!:A0 -
morning all, got up and dressed and made the bed nice and early this morning (doesn't sound like much but I sometimes struggle with little things like that)
Going to asda on my way to meet OH from work today to get the last couple of pieces for my months shopping (still feeling smug)
hve sorted out my external hard drive so no more movies that I don't watch on it and a nice folder for our superhero/comic book movie day on Friday (I know I'm an anorak, but is much cheaper than going to the cinema which wouldbe £14 in tickets for the two of us- miss the free tickets i got when working there) and to make it a reat am gettin cream, chocolate and marshmallows today for some fondue out of my play.com earnings and have plenty of popcorn kernals as well.
Dinner/tea tonight is going to be a lamb casserole, yummy yummy!
Hugs to all that need them. Need to find a way to keep my curtains open without freezing (single glazed windows and slight gaps i nthm, brrr!)0 -

N9eav - hope your OH enjoys her day
taplady - O good news about work, sounds like someone is listening at last. Good luck with your WI tonight
hilstep - She sounds really insensitive, or one of those really disgustingly healthy people who are never ill and have no idea how it feels to suffer from a reccurent illness....here have one of these :grouphug: x
csarina - hope all goes well with OH's scan

I love bagging a bargain and the Boots sales are definately a great way of picking up stocking fillers and presents when their is a 75% discount. I bought about 10 half price teen presents for my daughters friends for Christmas 09 and birthdays throughout the year when the half price sale was on.
I currently have £23.99 of points also so it is tempting to spend those. I'm just scared that if i go into the boots in town i will overspend...last year i ended up spending about £125 in the Boots sale and i wasn't really in a position to afford to. I hope you get some great boots bargains in their 75% off sale though!Grocery Challenge for October: £135/£200
