How I managed, well, I almost never exteriorise my negative feelings, so I just buried them at work (trying not to interact with people that much) and then I was very lucky that was my therapy day, so ended up crying a lot there and saying all sort of things that I usually never say...
My anger wasn't really caused by anything specific, or a particular person, I think just general circumstances, so, I don't know, maybe it made it easier to "ignore" externally (just makes me kinda ill inside....)
Sorry for the questions and apologies in advance if you deem them as nosey but do your work colleagues treat you any differently in situations like this?
I ask this as some people treat depression as a way of getting out of working.0 -
Scarletbea does your anger feel like a red mist and do you find yourself sometimes saying something or doing some action which you know is wrong but you still do it anyway because how angry you feel?0

I am so glad that this forum exists as I hope to be able to help people who suffer in anyway I can, and for me to be able to gain help from others who suffer from depression and the other things connected with it.0

Just wondered if any of you had been to anxiety management before? If so, what does it involve? I have been referred on to one and its making me even more anxious thinking about it.
I have suffered from depression since i was 18/19, im now 27. I suffer from bad OCD and have done since the age of 12. Ive been on and off med for years. Im now not on any as i start to panic taking any med thinking it will kill me. I suffer from panic attacks most nights. And also have a really bad temper that i cannot control. It also doesnt help when i get called 'loonytunes' 'psycho' etc from people close to me.
Hmmm...starting to think i need put down lol.
Anyway, what id like to know is....has anyone got advice on what i could try to help me feel better except taking medication?
Thanks
We are in a similar boat, I'm 26 and have been ill since I was about 19. I have OCD pretty badly, dysthmia and poss personality disorder.
I start CBT tomorrow and psychotherapy on 18th nov, ill keep you updated as to how they go as they might work for you too?0 -

WE all see our black dog differently and no one deals with things the right way or the wrong way so can I please just remind people of Martin's rule:

For anyone who finds their depression is exacerbated by the clocks going back, I got this very useful link from dizzybuff on another thread. She has tried the low energy 'Daylight' bulbs and finds they help her energy levels immensely, even though they do make your house a bit like Blackpool illuminations

I'll certainly be ordering some as the dark nights have always caused problems for me. Does anyone else have to increase their anti-depressants specifically for the winter months? Some people hear voices, some see invisible people. Others have no imagination whatsoever

I bought my OH one of the SAD lights as I think he suffers in the dark months. Unfortunately 2 years on and it is still in the box and I have been married long enough to know not to nag him about it, instead I try and earn enough pocket money to go to sunnier climes a couple of times in the winter as it seems to top up his sun levels.
I'm probably not making sense but a shot of bright weather, it doesn't even have to be hot-just sunny, and he feels much better.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I struggle with the depression at the best of times, but it's so much worse in the dark days of winter.
Personally, I think hedgehogs have the right idea - hibernate!:DIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0
