Just my two-pennyworth, but being able to talk to my friends here and know that they'll understand if I'm having a carp time, and not judge me helps to keep me away from the alcohol!! As far as I'm concerned, that's deffo saving me money! I seem to recall I did actually mention this in my initial post.:o

I understand both sides but my twopenneth is that MSE have allowed threads such as these on many boards to stray from solely money saving into other areas of life.
My particular concern is that this board deals with people who range from being a little bit more vulnerable to extremely vulnerable. To shut down or temper what they feel is a safe way of expressing themselves (particularly relating to mental health issues) could have extreme consequences on some individuals.

This was my furst thought, Soolin, when I read your post. Believe me, I understand it is an unenviable task you have in dealing with the vagaries of the D&D board but, particularly at this time of year, I fear the outcome of censorship whatever the reason.

would you concider closing a "im a wheel chair thread" because they desribe , the trouble with their body , spine ,legs , challenges they face etc etc

not meant to offend anyone ,have 2 friend married to each other both wheelchair users , im just using that as an example of the way this is looking to me

im sure the MSE forum would not want that label

I understand what you are saying, but this could be perceived as a veiled threat and actually undermines our efforts to keep this type of thread open.

I understand where MSE is coming from. This isn't an easy thread to read especially if you haven't been in the pit of depression. However, it is a great support to us to be able to talk to others that understand and do not judge. It is also a lift in knowing that we do understand and can give support to others. As for money saving when I'm in the pit I eat and shop to try and make myself feel better. So although I'm a newbie it has saved me some money - 4 NSDs this month so far. So I ask all at MSE towers that this thread be saved

i agree with the above and thanked soolin too..very very differcult thing....going the same way as the fibro /illness thread which is a pity...as losted a lot of friends there , like this thread was a way .to vent every thing...so sad

CWA .... threat of what ? i rarely post here , read it often though , so it no odds to me if it stays open or not , just voicing my opinion , as of late people cant seem to post without being hassled from all angles , and thats sad , when they need help and encouragement , i have no intention of starting any rows , but just saying if thats MSE stance , if its not concidered in thier opinion "money saving" and has to go , then there are quite a few other things that have to go too for the same reason , if not then it is discrimation , one rule for one and one for the other , i understand its difficult to admin , being admin of another forum myself ,
but on my forum it the same rules for ALL
