Hi
I also suffered depression after dealing with chronic pain and mobility loss for 4 years. I personally found that counsellor's were not helpful but found CBT pschotherapy very helpful as it gave me tools to use to help me such as developing a sleep routine, planning days and goals. A brilliant book is Overcoming Chronic Pain :A self-help guide using Cognitive Behavioural Techniques by Frances Cole, Helen Maconald, Catherine Carus, and Hazel Howden-Leach, Published by Robinson in 2005 ISBN 1-84119-970-2
What I found the most benefit from the book was the fact that what I was going through was normal and there are ways to overcome it. For example the anger and frustration, witdrawing from social events etc.
Hope this helps0 -

Hi to all fellow dog lovers! I did one post and then things seem to a bit haywire. I am fed up of doing sudoku or whatever its called and I dont recommend reading Chat or Take a Break when you cant sleep. I felt drawn to the sad stories which made me feel even more depressed and kept me awake even more :rotfl:
I got fed up of the cold weather because it made my RA worse and I have been a horrible person to be around:( but reading through this thread has made me feel a whole lot better:A
Been to the library today to see what audio books are available but tbh nothing took my fancy. My plan of action for tonight is to go to bed with Il Divo (unfortunately just their cd). I suppose I can dream :rotfl:
OH has finally got his appointment for the sleep clinic having waited 3 years. I am hoping they may find a cure for his snoring - its so bad he wakes the neighbours:rotfl:. If they cant do anything I think a pillow over his face might do the trick! It would be a crime of passion!!!
Oh well my 4 fellas are waiting hope they are all in tune.
Night all
