Is it Just PAYG,,just go here get an account and see if dialing up is OK.

and get a Pay As You Go Account
If this account wont dial up then its a PC software problem.0 -

You say you get online after a shed load of attempts so I thought you may still get it, also it maybe some kind of firewall or something on yer PC but I dont want to go down that route yet.. So I Can walk you through the Zoom setup manually Very easy :beer:0 -
ahh well, strangely enuff, i thought i had been online, it has shown on my phone bill, but i appears it was the registration page i had up. and not actually online.
this comp has kasperkey on and an antispyware something which lools like a red and yellow target.
i have tried doin this with kasper on and off..
never heard of zoom, is it good?

Do you have a modem in your PC? Can you test it using that?
Oh, and can you test your laptop modem connection on someone elses line? eg friend/family?
Sometimes an ADSL service on the line can stop dial-up working - worked fine when I had two ADSL services on two lines in same property. A third ADSL service was added to a third line, and I found I couldn't use dial-up on 2 of the lines - it would only work on the line that had the 512Kbps ADSL service.0 -
ok, i have an internal modem, tested and appears ok, i am goin to take lappy to mates tomorrow, but my friend whos a bt engineer came round and plugged me straight into a wall socket, so no interference.
Do you think having bb will stop it? although i have as stated plugged lappy straight into wall... this is really buggin me now..
tried to log onto zoom included 1470 and still get couldnt connect to remote server, although it dials out forever and a day..

Have you an extension cable you are using if so dont..... plug straight in
While dialling wiggle the connection on lappy
Turn off or Disable any Firewalls
Also Open network Connections, then click once on the connection then clcik on change windows firewall settings then Exceptions and if you see the connection in there put a tick in the connection then click OK.0 -
Doesn't matter if you have plugged direct into the wall socket or not - its still the same line that your ADSL service comes down. When I had ADSL activated on just one line here, the dial-up connection speed dropped from 48Kbps to about 28-36Kbps.
Try it out at a friends (preferably try it on a BT line without any ADSL service, just to rule that aspect out).0
