If anyone is unhappy about how their transaction was handled (i.e. last minute notification you can't have 25% off after being offered 25% off directly by Freemans, that kind of thing), here are some self-regulating bodies they're members of who are happy to investigate :

    Mail Order Traders Association (mark.hogarth@mota.org.uk)
Interactive media in retail group (ISIS@imrg.org)

To the guy who had money taken out of his account but no TV delivered, I'd suggest : London Borough of Lambeth Trading Standards (tradingstandards@lambeth.gov.uk)

    Hi Folks

Originally put my order through for the 26” Samsung with Freeman’s on the normal system quoting the code they sent me with the catalogue I’d ordered from them.

As a first time purchaser they quoted me 20% discount!

They came back to me by letter stating that my credit had been refused! Tried with my other half’s name and the same thing happened, credit refused! Not to be defeated I rang customer services and asked how I could buy one on a cash basis?

Dead simple, ring up and say you are a first time buyer and wish to make a cash purchase quoting the code given with the accompanying letter with catalogue.

Don’t go the normal route just state you wish to buy as a first time cash buyer but get the catalogue sent to you first and then you have the discount code (letter) in front of you in black and white!

As far as my credit rating is concerned this is a load of cobblers by Freeman’s as I just applied for a Nationwide Flexi-Account Debit Card (see MSE re-drawing cash abroad) and they offered my an additional credit card, so the credit refusal was just a rouse to stop my purchase!

All said and done the TV arrived after about four weeks and is definitely worth the wait as currently quoted in Dixon’s at £749, PC World £599! Mine £499.99!!!

The picture is great and I have linked it up with the Panasonic DMRES20 DVD recorder with Freeview, £159.99 online at Richersounds. Quote online price if you buy in-store, as £169.99, so ten quid off!

Link that up with Maplin’s wireless (£49.99) speakers and hey presto you have a fantastic system for no money to speak off! The Samsung stereo is pretty good but with the Maplin speakers playing CD’s the sound is incredible so my neighbours say!

    Hope this helps! Someone!

Hi all, I tried to use the 25% discount code. I placed my order then phoned freemans and was told the code used did not apply to certain things. I then said I would take the 20% new account discount. The 32" samsung (LE32R41BD, there is no difference between this and the LE32R51BD check https://www.samsung.co.uk) now has pride of place in my living room. It is excellent esp with the XBox 360. well worth the money. Sells for £999 in currys stores and have not been able to get near the £719 inc free delivery that I paid. There is some sort of recommedation scheme as well so let me know if you want to be recomeneded and I get a gift and you get 20% off first order.
    Everyone is a winner!

Can someone recommend a good flush wall mount for my Samsung LE32R51BD. Don't need any tilt features etc. It is going on a flimsy plaster wall. What are the best screws to use?

I bought a joist finder to check where the joist was behind the stud wall. It appears to detect a single joist conveniently where i want to hang the screen. What is the best wall bracket to use considering there is only a single joist running floor to ceiling. Is this secure to handle the weight of screen?

Another question...the joist finder also has a metal finder option. Both settings detect the joist. Does this mean there are pipes running alongside the joist? (shower ensuite other side of wall). I'm a bit confused becasue didn't think the pipes would run floor to ceiling though.

    Any help much appreciated!
