I wasn't going to buy a TV though, and I wasn't going to shop at Freemans. Their offer of a 26 inch samsung LCD at £450-ish was a deal clincher

Good deals are totally relative. You could argue that the TV was a good buy at £599, so why even use a discount code at all? That's what this section of the site is really all about, paying the lowest price available, relative to the rest of the public.

I don't want a good price. I want the best price. And as it happens, I've ended up paying 5% more than others, so relatively speaking, I didn't get a good deal at all on this set.

Shut up moaning, this site isnt here for you to lay down your problems its here to provide a service, if you dont like it just dont use the site.

I got the 32 inch samsung yesterday and am very happy with it. The picture and general quality is fab and it really is a plug in and play tv, i.e. we plugged in our scart leads for dvd player and sky and away we went - no tuning required. Tv was up and running within 10 mins of receiving it. Great! :)
What did I do at work before I discovered MSE?!

DFD - WAS: a while ago

NOW - not sure, due to boyfriend going back to uni for masters and now pgce. Worth it in the long run!

We've got the 32" and to be honest the picture is not quite as good as a decent CRT TV (a normal big TV.) However, the Samsung is great and I wouldn't swap back to our old TV now that we've had this one.

I think the secret is, don't sit too near it or don't buy one too big for the room it's in. From 6 feet away the picture looks bright and clear and overall it just looks nice in the room. The nearer you get, the more you notice the picture quality. Also, when HD arrives the LCD should come into its own.

If you didnt get a good price then do us all a favour and send the TV back bank the money and stop whinging !

PS: my understanding is that you got the TV at the same price as the majority of the posters on this forum, so what makes you so special that you think you should get it cheaper than us all ?

AS has been prevously said if you dont like what this site has done, dont come back. For me, because of this site I have a high spec' TV for a fraction of the price I would have paid anywhere else. For that a Big Thank you to the origanal poster !

PPS How selfish can you be wishing that Freemans had cancelled all the orders, what about the hendreds of people who are really happy with their TV's especially bearing in mind the great price they paid?

Its outstanding. I'm chuffed to pieces. And i'm very pleased with the price (i used the legitimate 20% voucher and have sent my dad off to do the same thing). Can't imagine why anyone wouldn't be impressed with it.

I agree, i upgraded to LCD knowing that they don't look so great close up. Because of the shape of my lounge i'm sat about 9ft from the tv. It looks stunning. Very crisp. If you want to see for yourself pop down to dixons - but make sure you stand 4 or 5ft away. They cram them all in there and viewing from a few inches just doesn't do the set justice.

Finally arrived and great it is! More power to "Freeman's" as they did honour my purchase and at 20% discount (£479.99) and a cash purchase to boot!

Same one at Dixons nearly £750!

    Picture is fantastic!
