  • Sadly not ;) I think it was either an offer for new customers, which we were at the time, or pensioners, which we are all the time :D

wondered if anyone else has worked out how to set the cost when the tariff is a higher amount for the first 900 kwh then a lower amount after that?

Leave it at the higher charge, and treat the difference between "normal" rate and the higher rate on the first 900 kwh as a standing charge (which is in effect what it is), unless you are ever likely to use less than the 900 kwh.
  • is electric not 125kwh per 1/4 so 500kwh per year not 900kwh
remember it is nice to be important
but more important to be nice ;)
  • My tariff info definitely says 26.something for the first 900 kwh then 10.something after that (I'm with EON)

I've just got an OWL and I love it! :)
I have 2 questions though and wondered if anyone could please help...

Can you please give me an example of your 'normal' rate of kw (on the energy mode) and what is on in your house to get this reading? Just want to check mine isn't miles off (I know it will vary loads between houses though)

We have 2 tariffs: an overnight tariff and a daytime one. I have set this with no problems. However, our 'overnight' rate also applies all weekend (including weekend daytime) - is there any way I can set this?

    Thanks!

I assume it was the Daily Mail offer back in Sept/Oct where you collected DM coupons, you didnt need to be a BG customer
Are British Gas now providing free Owl energy monitors to their customers?
  • Please can someone advise me where I can get one of these OWL devices?

    Thanks

    :)

The latest model is the CM119. The CM113 is the older model. I can't remember all of the differences but one is the memory function to see long term use of electric
Just so anyone knows what to look for it if doesn't say the model number, this one is the CM119:

and this one is the older one

  • Regarding the Owl CM119, I have set the device up, but as far as I can tell it's not maintaining the settings that I have put into it ie. the voltage & the unit rate.

When I go back into the setup to look through the current settings (expecting to see the last ones I put in) it says the default settings instead ie. 230 volts & 10.50 Unit rate (Not my 240 volts & 9.10 Unit rate) as if it has totally disregarded what I last entered.

Please could someone tell me if the unit is faulty or not & what to do if it isn't?
I am only using Tarrif 1.

    Thanks.
