Evening all,
I am a bit sad today, DS2 rang lunchtime to tell me his MIL died early this morning, doctor thinks she could have had a heart attack, but wont know until the post mortem has been done.
It was a shock for DIL, she has had a lot of tragedy in her life and she is lovely, I hate to see her so upset.
I am off to dish dinner up now fish, chips and mushy peas not really OS but quick for tonight.
I will post properly tomorrow.
((((HUGS)))) for all in need
and welcome to all newbies glad you all decided to join us x
take care all

((((hugs)))) to those with sad news. Thinking of you.
Halight - I think the news went the way you expected didn't it? I'm glad that you don't have to work more notice but I think it's really unfair that they have given the extra week at Christmas and now asking for the wages for it back. Surely they can't do that??
Chicken soup heating up + left over chicken stew and broc + peas. Having a vit C fizzy at the moment - started a cold yesterday but gave it a blast of vit C last night + a hot toddy and have been fine so far today.
Off to have a quick read then serve up.
Plan to go over to flylady and see what I should be doing - will have a go at the bare minimum!

Hi all,
MSD so sorry about your news.
Halight - sorry about your redundancy, I hope it works out for the best in the end. Your story about the dummy was great, it's amazing that she has the reasoning power to work it out like that.
I've got positive news in that DH has found out he won't be made redundant, they had so many vacancies in his department and with 3 people already leaving that covered their redundancy quota so to speak.
Came home from work made chicken pesto pasta and I'm halfway through polishing the marble floor in the kitchen, it's abit hard on the knees and my hands are starting to itch, I think I might be allergic to the polish.0 -
Hi everyone
Not been able to post a couple of days because the laptop is in the shop, which means a hike up the stairs to the old faithful which is a bit of a pain.
Am still trying to catch up but am so sorry to hear the sad losses that we are having and so big (((((( hugs ))))))) to those that need them. Having lost my dad before Christmas I know what you are all going through and can only say that its at times like these that old cliches come into being such as time being a healer, things do get better etc. You need to think of happy thoughts of that person because it is these thoughts that will make the coming days, weeks and months, easier to bear. Thinking of you all.
Halight - sorry to hear your news on the job front. I am sure with your witty personality, you won't be too long without a job. Pity Jackanory is no longer on the box, you would have been well suited. Your tales of the twins have me in stitches. Ask them to keep it up. Hey, you could pen a novel !
Yesterday was first day back since my dad passing. Everyone was nice which was good. Only thing is, I have the attention span of a gnat. Luckily my boss isn't around because I keep flitting from one job to the next and not completing anything and I am still trying to wade through what feels like 67 million emails.
Made DH pear crumble (slight cheating with tinned pears I am trying to use up) but the crumble was quick to do so that's something. Finally got tap fixed - was only a washer. I thought we were going to need the whole tap replacing so that was good news. Tea and toast for tea as DH off to badminton and I couldn't be bothered cooking for myself. Just folded towels and tea towels up, made sandwiches for lunch tomorrow and am going to have a quick wade through here to see what I have missed. Will try and post when I can. Hurry back laptop, I am missing you !!! Good thoughts to allI got there - I'm debt free and intend to stay that way. If I haven't got the cash, it doesn't get bought. It's as simple as that.0 -

(((((((((((((((Diva, Tristan, Treacle))))))))))))) Hugs and prayers for all of you.
(((((((((((Pippa Anne, DS and DDIL)))))))))))) prayers of comfort for you all.
(((((((((((((((((Everyone else))))))))))))))))))) hugs and prayers.
Please forgive me if I've forgotten someone or something going on. My memory is getting shorter by the day it seems and I forgot to "take notes" while reading through the thread.
Tea tonight was hamburgers in onion and mushroom gravy, brocolli and corn. For afters DH had caramel cake and cream. I've been in the cookies all day and am about sugared out.
Didn't get much done today and that's ok. I got the important things done and tomorrow will be here before we know it.
Have a good night all and may you have very peaceful and restful sleep.
Peyton xx
Also welcome to those who are new. The more the merrier and this is a great group of people. Enjoy!Take the first step.
Even if you cannot see the whole staircase,
Just take the first step.

Celyn, I'm not sure if you read my blog, but I have a spare vibrator (long story, includes my dotty lodger) I'll let you borrow it & you can wave it over your food. I'm sorry, but I nearly fell of my chair when I read about you mil waving the wand over the cream cakes.
Have a good evening everyone.
