if your a long way from the exchange - then you won't be getting a 2mb connection..... do a check at https://www.bt.com/broadband - and see what speed you can get on your phone line, you may find it is only at 512k, due to the long phone line - which is not BT's fault
you maybe then be better off at migrating to someone with a low price, at that speed - or a cheap capped package, if your a light user..... if you know your average monthly usage, it might help
But you say your a light user - if you use under 2GB a month - then I recommend zazizam's £11.99/£13.99 capped package with/without phone option.... it may be more suitable to your needs, and save you quite a bit too.... i recommend zazizam - i have used them for years, not one complaint do i have0 -

I assume you are referring to technical support. First thing to check is the cost of an ISPs support line. Some are free (very few) some use low cost 0845 numbers but many use premium rate numbers costing up to £1 a minute.
Also check the hours you can ring for help. Some ISPs offer 24 hour service some do not.
Quality of service is also important. Check out what users have to say about an ISP at:

mr] thanks for your help, BT check for speed etc. say up to 1MG, I have looked at zazizam's £11.99/£13.99 and it looks like a good aption for me. BT have been working near a new building site and there have been problems with the cables. I have been in touch with them and they are going to send someone to check my connection. Last night it took 5 min to open my e-mails!! I'm at work at the moment and am able to open my e-mails within seconds. (I'm not officially allowed to brows my e-mails at work) I enjoy spending time e-mailing my friends at home but have been finding it very frustrating recently. Regard the price, zazizam's £11.99/£13.99 is half what I'm paying to BT. Looks like I will be joining you with zazizam very soon. Thanks for your help0

£11.99 per month can also get you up to 2Mb speed with ADSL4less.com. It means that when/if the exchange gets upgraded and faster speeds are possible on your line, you'll get them up to 2Mb for the same price. Customer Support calls cost 10p pr minute (0871 number).ELR0 -
zazizam is upto 2mb (whichincludes 1mb, or even 512k - if 2mb is not available) aswell, i believe it is using adsl max when it comes out also - so it will be upto 8mb0

I've never come across zazizam, who are they? They don't appear in the ISP comparative tables on ADSLguide.org.uk
I notice they charge 50p a minute for tech support calls.
