Hopefully the OP will get to know by the end of the week, it musn't stop them looking for other properties though, it may help soften the blow if offer is rejected.
My suggestion and/or advice is my own and it is up to you if you follow it, please check the advice given before acting on it.

Prices all over the country have been slowly declining for over 7 years now. It's only the scaremongering in the press which makes it seems as though it's all coming to a head now.

    Er, no, they haven't.

They are taking their time. Any longer and your offer will be over value:D

  • Think it's a case of who jumps first. Leave it till Monday then ask the agent why he hasn't tried to contact you. You've obviously been too busy. ;)

I had offer of 250 accepted on a house with asking price of 300. Asking price was fair in todays market, and house had only been on since Nov, and generating lots of interested. They rejected me at first, then came back 3 weeks later aksing if i could go up to 280. I said no, but told them I was negotiating on another house, preferred their one and if they could accept the 250 that weekend I would pull out of negotiations with other house. Next morning they accepted.

I had a large deposit and renting so no chain, you're in a strong position so who knows!

Fingers crossed, no news is good news as far as I'm concerned.
    Riding out the receession.........

I seriously hope you're right, I really want to know before the w/e and we want to play it very cool with the agent so won't chase them!

On the positive side, I had a message on my voice mail tonight from another agent who know we're interested in this particular road: they've allegedly just taken on a "magnificent" house there, in "top condition", for a slightly higher asking price... It isn't on the website yet, but they've apparently sent us the details, hopefully they'll arrive tomorrow! If nothing else, a little competition for the vendors may not hurt ;)
  • Really hope you get this offer accepted, it would be good to see some people accepting the True value of their properties.

You can always ring the agent and tell them a cheeky story too, i.e, youve put an offer on another similar property for less and it was accepted?
  • Pick up a load of details from a rival and pop in to see the agent. Ask them if they could chase up your offer. Tell them not to ring you before 4.30 though as you will be on viewings. This should result in some action.
