I'm not sure how you sort by 'thread start time', but if I'm understanding correctly, if you start doing them that way, won't you miss the one's that have already been posted?

I think others have covered that above - but yes, you will miss some whichever way you do it.. it's impossible to enter them all if you're just setting out. You could do a keyword search for the biggies or those that are of more interest to you. I didn't worry too much - I'd missed out on years of comping before I started, so a few missed ones was no big deal.;) It takes time - around 10 or 12 weeks to catch up for me. But once you're there, it's all plain sailing! :)

To sort the threads.. Down the bottom of the forum page select:
    Sort By: Thread Start Time
    Order: Descending
    From The: Beginning
    Click: Show Threads

Then make it your homepage! :D

I do it by thread start time too and just started doing it like this the last week or so. I used to do it via setting up an RSS feed but then discovered loads got missed out! I often get a few days behind, but then just play catch up. currently I haven't entered any from midnight on the 8th, but know I have entered all of them before that day. I do miss some of the ones that get posted with only hours till closing and the ones that I really don't want the prizes for like c.d's from obscure groups etc, but hey I enter plenty so one or two missed I don't worry about.

Thanks for all the suggestions - the thing I like about doing the comp ending method is that it splits them into manageable amounts and so I know how many I need to do each day. If I did it as they were posted I probably wouldn't do as many each day as I would know that I could put them off until another day!

I have changed back to doing comps as they are posted... it takes me a bit longer each day to do the new ones than it did doing the comps ending but when it comes to the end of the month I don't have to do hours and hours to get them all done.... I find it much better...I am spreading my time out doing them more evenly...
  • I start every month by doing all the comps ending the following day but as there are always fewer that close on a Sunday, I do two days worth when I get to that day. Doing it this way I'm usually left with at least 4 days to complete the end of month comps. Works for me :D
Thanks to everyone who posts comps, I love winning prizes big and small

I like to do comps as they are posted and only enter the ones I think would be useful for me, that way I don't end up with unwanted stuff when others can benefit. I have also found when I have won some comps with Pick me up & checked when I thanked the person, I had entered the comp exactly a month before end date:confused: don't know if anyone else has noticed this with their wins? That's why sometimes it's not always best to enter day before!
Big thanks to all who contribute to the forums. Be lucky everyone and be safe!

I think it's probably a coincidence. I've won loads of stuff and I nearly always enter near to the end date. They obviously just like your name :D .
