I won this one too, no tickets here either, glad we didn't book a hotel. Feel quite cheated and annoyed that my name is on their site as a winner but I've not received anything. Might send them an email on Monday:confused:

This happened to me last year with BTCC tickets. They didn't arrive in time for the weekend and we obviously couldn't go. Luckily the lady was OK about it and she promised to send out tickets to another round later in the year (which arrived safely) but with this sort of competition there isn't another 'round' as such to send tickets for. Not sure what they could do about it really.
I'd send an email anyways to say you were disattisfied (sp?) with the win and see what happens. With tickets they should either send by email (to print out) or by special delivery to ensure they arrive in time. Very lax if you ask me.
They put in my 'winning' letter (sent to say I'd won) that they can't be held responsible if the tickets didn't arrive in time, but that's a cop-out.
Hope you get a decent reply.
Thank you to everyone who posts comps! :A

Clearly the best method is a combination, but would take too long. Any suggestions?

Hi Zebra :) I used the 'sort by end date' method until I'd caught up and now always sort the threads by 'thread start time' and 'descending'- That works for me, and means that, providing I do this daily, I don't miss any comps that end early (or are for that particular day only). Good luck! :D

I think Freecycle is now available in most places across England and it is a good way of getting rid of unwanted items for others to use. :T

i dont think another thread/forum section is needed - normal people would only enter for stuff they could use/make use of anyway so there would be no need for it

Although, sometimes you enter a comp for the first prize and end up with the second. For example, I entered a comp to win a Nintendo DS and games but got a runner-up prize of a Nintendo game, which is of no use to me as I don't have the DS to play it on. I ended up selling it on Ebay, but I can understand that is just too much hassle for some people and they would rather just give it away to a fellow comper.

oh I completely understand that bit, its happened to me but to warrant a new thread/section there would have to be a heck of a lot of people winning runner up prizes that werent needed - in many cases even if you win a runner up prize you can find someone to take it off you, give it as a birthday present, ebay it or charity shop it

Yes, I quite agree. You can usually use the odd unwanted win to make a family member very happy!:D I just wonder how many unwanted prizes there are that people do get stuck with. I don't have any, but its conceivable that I might in the future.
