  • As the OP of this thread, i feel uniquely positioned to let you all know (as if you didn't know already) what a truly spiffing job the FSCS are doing.

When I spoke to them for the umpteenth time a few weeks back - directly to LM's office - they undertook to send me a form directly, outside of the ongoing 'system' (or shambles). This they did.:j:eek:
During the call I was told that there was another form in the shambles, sorry system, which they had weeded out in order that things don't get duplicated. (StrawberryLane in fact forecast this, but in my naivety, I felt confident they'd do what they said they'd do. Foolish boy, Pike.)

So what do you all think I got in the post today? Come on, you're not trying!

Yes of course, form Mk 2.

So now of course the question is, what do I do with it? Ignore and face the problem of them saying they'd never received either? Send and face the problem of slowing down the shambles? Send and face the problem of them sending me two separate cheques? (yeah right!)

If it was me, I would keep hold of the form you got today, write to LM and tell her that you've had a second form from Darlington but that you are trusting her (yes, i know!) to process the first form correctly. That way you've covered yourself and you still have a blank form if all else fails further down the line.

BTW I got my form and my wife's form today. Both our forms are the "generic" one that assumes you may want to take compensation now as opposed to waiting for maturity (ie. there are 2 boxes in section D). Clearly, they've run out of the Fixed Term Deposit version of the forms (or couldn't be bothered printing any more!). But, at least it's come and we can now move on to worrying about the next stage of the shambles.

I have the feeling that we'll all be talking to each other on here for many weeks/months to come and get to know each other very well!!

our forms came today and I have returned them. Not holding my breath for speed, no not at all. They are going to a warehouse where they will join a zillion others in a great big industrial wheelie bin

sloughflint have you sent an e mail to m/mandhella? at least I got a response that was a bit more personalised

there was a space on each form for joint account holders. Pity help anyone more complicated

    Totally confused.

After feeling at my lowest earlier in the week when another set of forms arrived, weeks after I had sent the first lot, two envelopes arrived this morning.

The contents? Two cheques from FSCS.

Thank god it's all over and best wishes to everyone else in their quest.
  • Well done Bernie!

    Just out of interest,
    1. When did your claim go in electronically ?
    2. When did you receive the form?
    3. And when did the account end?

PS. Sorry to be tedious, but it'll cheer us up - or depress us!

I could not initiate the electronic process, as my linked account could not accept the funds which I had in Icesave.

I received my e-mail in late November, and phoned Icesave to say that I wanted a paper form.

I received and sent off my forms on 14th December, so considering Christmas and New Year, it has been less than six weeks, but when the other set of forms came during the week I thought I was back to square one with it all.

Sad to say, despite everyone passing on their personal experience of the process there seems to be no system or trends to anything which FSCS have done over the last few months. It seems that things will come when they come and no amount of pressure on FSCS does anything to change it one way or another.
  • Finally got the paperwork this morning advising me to complete the forms and return in the enclosed envelope. Unfortunately there was no envelope enclosed. Can any help and supply me the address please
  • If you are referring to the fixed rate bond form, then the address is:

    FSCS
    Warehouse 3
    Faverdale Industrial Estate
    Darlington
    DL3 0QN

(You'll also find in on the reverse of the envelope in which the form arrived)
