ASUS are good for home user and 2Y warranty standard.

Nothing wrong with Lenovo - they are actually HP with a different label. :)

Edit: IBM I meant, not HP

    Or Apple. :j

Altough their OS is good I think they are a typical pre-crunch company.
Super stylish at a price twice the price of an equiverlent PC.

Never got the whole apple thing

    Dell are history.
And no I don't work for them. Of course the only 'statement' a Lenovo will make is cheap and cheerful - but hey that's a statement of sorts.

Not a hope in hell, would I buy a Lenovo ever again. You try getting support from them. Diabolical. It's the pits.

At least with Dell, they've fixed all our support calls by the end of one phone call, or one email. Lenovo just washed their hands of us and HP is a joke for support.

Never judge a book by its cover. Try their support lines first, and then tell me which you prefer! Dell wins out every time!

    ebuyer.com is your friend. :)

Ebuyer FTW! (Even if they did mess me about over Christmas!)

BTW: The sites are all still down, and still no customer info message!

IIRC, the Currys/Dixons/PCWorld sites all use a common ecommerce platform with some different branding. Suppose they could have had a total lost of the server-farm, and the DR hasn't worked either, not an uncommon outcome in IT.
recently 3 of the big london hospitals had complete breakdown of their IT systems and their patient records couldnt be accessed and the nhs IT budget runs into billions of pounds but they still goof up sometimes. so this website down issue does not mean the company is bust. by the same token the 3 nhs hospitals should have ceased to exist if the same logic is applied like some here say about the company being bust because the website is down.

  • Still down. If its still down tomorrow morning it wont matter how many excuses they use it wont wash.
