Just for interest their international sites: Elkjop and UniEuro are still up and running.
On a purely unscientific reckoning of their solvency I have seen loads of people in their shops trying to grab stuff in the sales, and certain things were going quite cheap.
On the other hand their credit insurance risk is apparently still very high - Woolies had a similar problem and had to start buying its stock in cash - a strategy which went very wrong..
I'm very very suspicious about 'website issues' after Zavvi et al....0 -

Well, there's your problem! I wouldn't buy a computer from these, a glorified Radio Rentals outfit. TV yes, computer no!
Go to Dell direct!A friend is someone who understands your past, believes in your future, and accepts you just the way you are.0 -
Dell are history. They can't compete with these...

And no I don't work for them. Of course the only 'statement' a Lenovo will make is cheap and cheerful - but hey that's a statement of sorts.0 -

Depends on the support you want Dell are big in industry and education beacuse of there 3Y NBD support, Lenovos aint great.
ASUS are good for home user and 2Y warranty standard.0 -
I think Dell may have stood still a bit too long, hence the jobs moving to Poland. 3yr support is all very well, but the cost of these products is coming down to almost throw away prices. A decent technician for an hour and the profit for the product has gone.Depends on the supportyuo want Dell are big in industry and education beacuse of there 3Y NBD support, Lenovos aint great.

I don't want to see Dell go, but nothing stays the same for ever in these industries. There's always someone faster, cheaper just around the corner.0 -

Its only production to poland. The new E series is already made there. Personaly I think when Total Cost of Ownership is taken in to account Dell are very cheap (Optiplex and Latitudes are very relaible).
But this may not be the case for end users. But I have been out of the end user market for years now.
Personlay I would of thought lenovo was more likely to go before Dell but who knows.
