sorry if this is in the wrong place....
I today brought a finest roast chicken salad sandwich for me and my son who`s 3.
My son started coughing so i told him to spit out the sandwich and have a drink, to my amazement inside the sandwich he had spit out is a one and a half inch chicken bone...
As you can imagine i am very annoyed, upset and dissappointed.
I rang tesco customer services to explain and was told to return the item to the shop for a refund and fill out a form and a complaint will be looked into....
My son nearly choked but hey we will give you a refund ! ! ! WOW !!
is there anything else i can do, to make tesco take notice ??

Does the packet say 'may contain bones'? A lot of the time sandwiches with chicken in will say this to cover their back.Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.0

no , but it does say all sandwiches are hand made to ensure finest quality..... you would feel this bone it is a large one...0

It happens..occasionally I have made a chicken sandwich myself and nearly left a piece of bone in it,haven't we all?
If you are not prepared to take this risk either dont give a chicken /meat sandwich to a child,or make it yourself, and check thoroughly.0 -
what do you want from them ?
mistakes get made
they are offering you a refund

you could ring up head office i suppose and complain, i have a son that age as well and would be horrified personally - you don't expect to find that in a sandwich! Is it that you want more than the refund?grocery challenge jan 17 £ / 350.000

I would send it back to them for the refund & they will look into it for you.
They may well once their findings are known send you some vouchers in return.
I returned an item to Sainsburys and they looked into it & then sent me £15 worth of vouchers.0 -
ditto the above.....i mean what on earth do you expect?0

Ask for a "product report" when you take it back, then they will look into it and write back to you.[STRIKE]CC1: £354.35 / £354.35[/STRIKE]
CC2: £390 / £1475.98
Boiler: £1500 / £2500

This kind of thing happens quite often, it's something that simply cannot be avoided sometimes, no matter how careful the manufacturing process is.
If you are buying anything containing chicken (of fish) then you should expect to find the occasional bone, accept the refund and move on with your life.We have removed your signature - please contact the forum team if you are not sure why - Forum Team0
