They never actually trained me that farBut either way, it was still funny having to deal with customers getting all high and mighty about it, some of them simply refused to believe that it was a natural part of the squid :rotfl:

I would sellotape the bone fragment to a letter, explaining the situation, and send it to Tesco's.
For me it's not a compensation matter. Most people do not complain enough and put up with sub-standard purchases. I hate getting bones, gristle and other nasties in meat based food so I tend to buy from supermarket's "best" range in the hope that only quality cuts of meat are used.
If everyone adopted a 'just put up with it' attitude and companies were not informed about such matters, then food quality will suffer greatly for all.
In such circumstances, I think people should be compensated. I'd be quite happy for my compensation to be given to a charity; they just need to be hit where it hurts or greed will always take over quality.
I had a Ginster's Cornish pasty about a month ago and I can only imagine that a chainsaw had been used in selecting the cuts of meat - either that of their secret recipe includes bone & gristle!0 -

But it's not sub-standard, it's just a simple case of a bone having got into the product, a rare occurrence, but something that happens from time to time, hence warnings on packets  There is nothing that Tesco can change in the manufacturing process that can completely remove all traces of bone, some is bound to slip through from time to time. Most people do not complain enough
Really? I find these days people complain far too often, about things that are not worth complaining about. We have removed your signature - please contact the forum team if you are not sure why - Forum Team0 -

What difference would that make? You have just as much chance of finding a bone in a sandwich purchased in any supermarket in the country. We have removed your signature - please contact the forum team if you are not sure why - Forum Team0 -
I got food poisoning from a Tesco's egg sandwich. I contacted them and they asked for me to send them the sandwich for examination - did they want me to fish the vomit out of the toilet?
They offered the cost of the sandwich and £5 voucher - hardly made up for two days lost pay sitting at home beside the loo.
This happened four years ago - I cut up my clubcard and send it back to them, and have never shopped with them again to this day.
My policy; do tell a company what you think if you have v.bad experience - if they fail to listen - boycott them.0 -

OOOoooohhhh! get her!!! :rotfl: im sure the customer service standards have changed at tesco in the last 4 years. how do you know it was food poisoning and not just a spot of bad luck and a tummy bug?? if you boycott every shop you have a bad experience in u'll end up living off a little veg patch and animals in ur back garden... although i suppose that would involve buying the origoal seeds from somewhere..... hmmm???I can only please one person a day.... Today is not your day. Tomorrow doesn't look good either!!very greatful for almost everything i read on MSE (except for the nasties!)0 -
thanks all for your comments, my son had the finest chicken sandwich (was on special offer otherwise i would not have brought it for him), as for comments on buying a cheese one next time, i cant do that he can not eat cheese due to deitry problems.
And tesco have given me £15 to spend on my next shopping trip to them, as they agreed that as its hand made and the size of the bone it should have been picked up while the item was being made...0
