hi guys, i have 2 large trays of eggs that need to be used because the use by date on them is tommorrow. has anybody got any good ideas what i can do with them because i hate throwing things awayproper prior planning prevents !!!!!! poor performance!Only when the last tree has died and the last river been poisoned and the last fish been caught will we realise we cannot eat moneyquote from an american indian.0

Personally, I'd still be using them after their use by date,
but for things to make meringues, omelettes, spanish omlettes, cakes are all high usage on the egg front! Crack them open and freeze them and use them at your leisure!!
Have fun!

you can pickle them hard boil then put in a jar and cover with spiced vinegarSuicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem.0

You can just crack them and freeze them. If you are putting more then one in a container, mark how many are there otherwise you could be making an omelette for 60!!!
I freeze eggs, when I make meringues I freeze the yolks, when I make pies I freeze the whites. Then I use them when I have enough to make the other....

I use mine after the use-by-date as well, only because I always forget I've got them  I can never remember how you can tell if the egg is off but I think if it floats in water it's off, as it's got air in it. And if it sinks it's ok. Or is it the other way round, can be such a muppet at times :rolleyes:0

they don't go poisonous or anything after the sell-by date .... there's another thread about the floaty thing & telling if they're ok, but I've been out to the pub & am in no fit state to find it & make a link ... I'm sure squeaky will show you where it is in the morning0

When you want to use them, do not crack them straight into the pan/bowl, crack them into a glass/jug. If they stink, chuck em, if not, they're fine. In my experience, a month after BB date is nothing. My views are irrelevant - censorship is alive & well!0
