Eggs eggs and more eggs!

I believe a float test will show up eggs with a large air sac, but there will come a point at which the inside deteriorate to such an extent that the egg will sink.
I'd float test, but then also break each one individually into a cup before using. Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0 -
A month or so ago I found eggs at the back of the fridge BB April! I hate to throw anything out so used them in my hair.
Egg is a fantastic shampoo and conditioner. It emulsifies the oil so leaves hair clean and the protein and oils condition it beautifully. I used warm but not hot water to avoid scrambled egg in my hair. My hair looked and felt great.
The funny thing is, although the air pocket had increased and the mass of the egg white had shrunk a little and become thinner, they eggs didn't smell off at all.Trying to spend less time on MSE so I can get more done ... it's not going great so far!
Sorry if I don't reply to posts - I'm having MAJOR trouble keeping up these days!

If you don't want to eat them, you can make a hair conditioner. Mix an egg or two with a bit of warm water and apply to hair. Wash out with tepid (not hot) water after 10-15 mins.
My OH does this when we have old eggs.Hoping this year is better than the last.0 -
I have used eggs more than six months "out of date" with little concern and certainly no ill effects, and although nowadays I tend to get through them more quickly, they are almost always past the date by the time I finish the box. I've only ever had one bad one - and as noted above - you'll certainly know if it's gone.0

I wonder how many have done it hot and scrambled the egg!
Nuala do you use shampoo and conditioner or just water then egg?A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men

Nuala do you use shampoo and conditioner or just water then egg? Then I rinsed with the luke-warm water. Hair smelled a bit eggy until it dried but not of rotten eggs! :rotfl: I've heard some people put essential oils in to kill the eggy smell though.
My usual "shampoo and conditioner" these days are bicarb and white vinegar respectively. At first I was paranoid and kept asking friends to sniff my hair to see if smells like chips but either they're lying or it smells fine!Trying to spend less time on MSE so I can get more done ... it's not going great so far!

My mum buys eggs from the local farm so no BBE or use-by dates, I wouldn't recommend using very out of date eggs for anything involving partially cooked or raw eggs, but for baking they're fine. Just do what the other posters are suggesting and break them into a cup first. I have to say that I don't do that... If I ever have a bad one I'm sure I'll start!
**Thanks to everyone on here for hints, tips and advice!**:D

Hi Everyone,
I bought 10 eggs (for 99p) when the sale-by date was 17th December 2009.
For some reason, I haven't used any of them, and was wondering whether you might have suggestions for their use?
All ideas gratefully received, thanks. :j0
