they did come in the fire engine!!!!! lodger is friends with postman (who saw fire engine) and phoned me while they were here to see if there was a fire!!!

it is part of a free service that they offer - free safety advice and they fit smoke alarms if required.

found out some things that i didn't know - stuff like how shutting the doors before going to bed could make all the difference.

the smoke alarms that i had were not working right and were all in the wrong places :o . so they fitted two for me that last 10 years :D .

very pleased - good morning so far! :D
it's nice to be important but more important to be nice!! :kisses3:

Morning all. A dreay monday here in London.

Saw my mum at the weekend in hospital and she looked so much better than I thoughtshe would. Chatty and bright, and walking (albeit very slowly) with a frame, so I feel better about being far away from her now).

    Today:
    Slicing the pie
checked my bank account ARGH... paid on Thursday though
Will do scratchcards tonight (open plan office, those bingo sites are far too lurid to get away with it!)
    Surveys and polls etc.
    Brought a packed lunch
Got a cake order last night so that will be another £60 towards my debts

    THink that's it.

Afternoon all! Today I am stuck at home after falling twice while shopping yesterday and finding out I now have a suspected fractured elbow. Fortunately , I can still type but cannot drive myself to work!! My boss is not happy as we have the auditors in this week and he's got to cope on his own.

Today is very rainy in Derbyshire after a very windy day yesterday. Today I will/have:
    • done daily scratchies - 50p & 10p
    • check bank - nothing to report as paid with cash for Mr T shopping
    • try to not move arm too much as it really hurts
    • watch rubbish day time telly but catch up with some recordings off the sky box
    • hope work don't ring with too many questions
    • see if I can persuade my DH to collect the avon books in today before they get too soggy
    • try to sort out my additional loan payments now that's it's been re-negotiated without PPI and return paperwork so I can get my PPI refund - harder that it sounds - took 4 phone calls before anyone said I could just do it through my on-line banking
Not sure I can do much else - maybe polish with one hand but nothing more. Have a good day everyone.

    Regards

    Hello all!
I'm home sick from work today - has the rotten cold/cough thing that's doing the rounds all weekend, feel better than I did this morning so things may be looking up:confused:

    Anyway, today I have/will.....
    • Had breakfast and lunch at home
    • Have a NSD
    • Follow meal plan for teas
    • Called mum from landline instead of mobile (free)
    • Had a cheque from AXA for a bonus on an old policy I'd cashed in - only £11 but unexpected so a bit of a nice surprise:j
    • Had a £10 Tesco giftcard from survey site (been waiting since before Xmas so had kind of half forgotten about it):j
    • Walk dog for free gentle exercise
    • Entered 2 TV competitions on line instead of phoning them (would never phone but as I was on the internet at the time semed daft not to try - someone has to win?)
    • Drying towels on the airer
    • Heating off
    • Check banks (pay day on Thursday so looking a bit pathetic but not overdrawn:j )
That's it for today - a going to curl up and watch rubbish tv until OH gets home
