Sooo excited I used to have some when I was little and loved him so much, he died when he was 6 and was having an op to remove a tumour on his stomach - my mum was so distraught that she vowed never to have another pet again - we ended up with a cat (who died in Nov - again mum was inconsolable) and a horse! I used to pick grass for my guinea on my way home from school and put it in my lunchbox and then walk home with grass sticking out my lunchbox - wonder what the other kids used to think!

I think the kids will love them - DS is scared of most animals and probably wont be too involved at first but hoping they will help him overcome that as he now loves the horse - who is massive compared to him. DD really wants a pet but really they will be for me!

    Hope you are well x x x

If you get a bonded male pair ...then no...they will either be brothers from the same litter or a pair where a baby boy has been introduced to a mature male......possibly one or both knadgered...;)

Go for youngsters if going to a pet shop.(and take care as pet shops bung different litters in with each other and leave them to fight it out).....but better still...go to animal sanctuary (RSPCA or bunny/g-pig place)....as they will have knadgered/wormed etc and made sure the pair is bonded before they hand them over..........

Check their coats/ears before accepting, especially on the back and rump...small fresh scabs = fighting= could be problems with them staying in the same cage later on...

.....BTW...another combination........I have a bonded mixed pair - neutered long-haried red Sheltie male (Ginger) with female black Abyssinian..(Whisp) (Ginger was knadgered and introduced to Whisp as a youngster)...(both slightly smaller than average piggie size)......that's the other combination you could go for......and does tend to keep the male on the straight and narrow.....;).

Smashed adopted Pierrot and Garibaldi (same combination) and is over the moon with them...

If you are interested..and no pressure by the way......PM me if you want piccies of Whisp (very quiet, loving and docile female) and Ginger...(bit fiesty as not been handled much and still young...but very interactive and will calm with handling) - neither bite......have car/cage...will travel.......free to good home.....

Piggies are great Pingu, mine were really soft and loved being stroked, very greedy though and talkative.

Seems like you are going great guns there Wol.Well done. xx

I cant have any pets being in a flat although I am sure my landlord would say yes although when the nitwits lived upstairs (the lad that wanted to be a policeman and passed himself off as one when in reality he worked as a security guard on the police station carpark:rotfl: and his equally dopey girlfriend) they didnt ask the landlord if they could have a pet, they just got one - a snake:eek: my landlord knew when I asked him to make my flat snake-proof (I have an extreme and deep-rooted fear of snakes). Needless to say they had a choice either the snake left or they did - they chose to leave without paying the rent:rolleyes:

Anyway - am I right in thinking that piggies squeal?

Hello lovely wol -another considers-herself wol here, offering runner beans, if you haven't yet obtained some?
Plonked saved seed from last year in pots recently and all have gone mad - far too many for moi. Don't know where to put them all. They are the result of my being away so long last year, that I rtn'd to heaps of dried out pods which I stripped from canes.
I, too, intended much gardening, if not booting, this w/e, but haven't got started - it's chilly, even when sun does occasional face show and the wind is gusty. Don't like. Still looking for mob. - day 5 today - did anyone see what I did with it when I took it out of coat pocket upon rtn from Glasgow?
