    Hi all

Well in between dodging the clouds I have mowed the lawns and now have clean guineas........but no weeding today as ironed instead (while watching Mamma Mia - first time I've seen it all the way through..:o...how behind am I??? This time next year I'll be watching Quantum of Solace :rotfl:..)

Anyhow now I'm getting the hang of this photobucket thing......so here is my back garden today.....how can I move when it looks so pretty....you see my dilemma.....it's taken eight years to get it to this state and the thought of just giving up on it......

    Wolsgarden.jpg

It's still full of weeds (Numpty please note :D)...but you can't see them from this distance :rotfl::cool:. The guineas have a special "guinea pig lawn"set aside just behind where I'm standing to take this photo. It doesn;t get mowed or weeded or treated in any way....and is now almost 12" in length and full of dandelions (and slugs )....so piggies can run and burrow and munch.....

And now the long awaited for...........(see next post....)

    xxxx

edit - well not quite the next one as BOB got in before me LOL!!

Woop wooop...I've finally done it...Lula, Numpty.....here they are.....

(I actually wrote a post last time Numpty was down but lost it...so here's the second attempt :o)

This weeks guinea(s) of the week are my oldest bonded pair Fleure (right) and Grommie (left). Both are over 4 years old but I don;t know their birthdays. They love each other to bits, are always looking out for each other (it was Fleure standing guard over Grommie everytime I approached that tipped me off he was not well recently).....and have the odd domestic (especially when dandelions are on the table - Fleure nips Grommie on the nose to tell him to back off until she has taken the choicest ones!!)

Being the oldest, they are the most interactive with humans, always coming out to greet me when I approach. Note she's got her paws on the green stuff in this picture too!!......

    GrommieandFleure.jpg

Grommie is the father and/or grandfather to half of my guineas. He used to live with his brother Biscuit who died three and half years ago and Grommie then became very upset and lonely ...(to the extent that when I was away on holiday, he stopped eating and had to spend two nights at the vets because the veterinary nurse looking after him was so worried....it turns out he was just depressed because he "wasn't getting his leg over enough" :rotfl::rotfl:). So I had Fleure spayed (she has never had pups and was too old at the time to have a first litter) and the two of them have been inseparable ever since.

Fleure has a very shiny, smooth haired sable coat and with her little white crest on her forehead appears to have "satin" and "American crested" genes. Grommie is truly mixed up..:rotfl:....his brother Biscuit was completely smooth haired but Grommie has some Abyssinian and American crested in him, hence the slight "mohican" ridge down his upper back. (He always reminds me of Spike in Gremlins). Once you see Grommie's progeny, you will be as amazed as i was at the colours/coats etc that can arise.......

So there you have it...guineas of the week..who because of their advancing years (and thus susceptibility to pneumonia) are now forever house guineas....and dearly loved

Hi Olive Hun..thankx for the appreciation .:A..

When I moved in 10 years ago I made a vow that my house and garden would be designed to be "a haven for weary souls"...be they singletons or families.........and over the years it has certainly proved so....and I want it to continue.

Only yesterday I extended an invite to a young mum with kids who was going through a rough time...."if you fancy, come and spend a few days here, away from it all, chilling out, thinking, whatever!"...full bed, board and entertainment (especially for any youngsters.we have loads of stuff here for every taste....!!)...but most importantly...in a neutral environment, no conditions, lectures etc....just being looked after and away from all those "other influences and responsibilities"

So if anyone, reading this, be it single or family ...needs a "head break"....well 'yer 'tis!!.Just PM me!

Ooohhh....And that includes you Olive Hun...fancy a weekend or mid week break....yo lady....COME ON DOWN...as woud LOVE to see you again! :D

    Hugs Hun
