lovetopaint -thanks for that link.........some brilliant ideas there.:T
I've been hoarding free fabric samples and wondered what else I could do with them apart from stuffed heart christmas decorations.
Love the idea of the patchwork border on a tea towel...........so simple but effective.

qwiksave - if I can manage to sew by hand........go on, I'm sure you could.

I want to do a christmas wall hanger with santa, snowmen and stuff on it in about 6 squares .....don't have enough fabric to do the images in one piece but should be able to 'patchwork' then...........I think;)
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Not exactly a recycling craft but definately an easier way to store your old carrier bags untill they are required! http://alilbird.blogspot.com/2010/09/tidy-tips-bags.html

Broadband went down yesterday and today...........technician was due out on 28th but now tried it again and its working........:T

Latest 'recycling' thing...........while we were away we stopped off at service stations and I 'rescued' some pretty disposable cups......some quite jazzy and tall, others had coffee cups on them and were smaller but just right to roll up a coffee coloured flannel and put in..........so, one done..........6 to go.................lol:rotfl:
Not sure what to put in the tall jazzy looking ones..........need to think about them:)

she grinch = hadn't thought of that -don't think I've got anything colourful enough though.
Got some socks from the market today in shades of creams and browns for 'cup of socks' -they'll go in the cups with coffee cups on them. The jazzy colour cups are taller ...........have to have real think.

Meanwhile........racking my brain to think what to do with a little plastic lined hessian bag I had a baby tree delivered in..........other than a 'santa sack' I can't think of anything.

Done a 'bottle of hugs' for my friends birthday......printed the quotes and images off google, rolled them up like mini-scrolls and popped them in a small nice shaped whisky bottle.......ribbon round the top. Looks quite nice.

Got a black scarf lurking around desparate for a new lease of life so think I'll get the buttons out for that.
If I sew the buttons on one side and sew a ribbon on the other to cover my random stitching it should be ok. Sons girlfriend will love it.

Like the buttons and ribbon idea might use that one for my DD3 who loves smart office type accessories:)

This scarf is just a plain sort of woolen/fleece one -to be honest a man could wear it or a woman. Thought some buttons would just make it a bit more feminine looking.
Think I'll be having a ''sewing''day tomorrow........need to finish off the patchwork borders on a tea towel as well as making more fabric hearts and another heart with buttons......oh where does the time go
