Didn't get a lot of sewing done today after all.
Spent the morning rolling up brown and cream socks and trying to get them to fit in the cups I'd retrieved from service station..........did it eventually but with the bulk of the socks and the narrowing of the cups it was a bit fiddly ........one pair was too small and two pairs two bulky..........still did it in the end.
Took scarf out of guiness glass and replaced that with black socks.....really need white socks for the top I think, Bath scrunchie keeps wanting to bounce off !
Out came the patchwork border to sew onto the tea towel..........I'd bought some cotton that said ''blends with all dark colours''.........more like invisible cotton :eek:Got one side done but I'll get some black cotton for the other one else my eyes will fall out my head !
So scarf and buttons are still waiting to be done.............(deep sigh)..........gave up and lanted my violas instead...............lolI would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

I have finished making all the felt applique Hello Kitty's for the decorating of DD3's sewing box, also made matching pincushion and scissor case, as the seagrass boxes I am covering smell like rabbit hutches(that strange smell they have naturally!) I have decided to make a small stuffed flower to add some essential oil to make it smell christmassy inside the basket, Just got to finish covering the basket now and that is 1 done. My DD1 also made a matching needle case for DD3's stocking (her first sewing project ever!).
Started making the first felt applique for DD2's Betty Boop themed basket (tricky to get the expression and curls just right, will take pics one it is finishedPucker up and kiss it Whoville! - The Grinch:kiss:0 -
Given my sewing a rest now till I get some cotton I can actually see..............lol
Spent this morning making coaster calendars -OH got me a load of beer mats from the pub and I'm trying to use up some odd bits of scrapbook paper.
Got a pair of plum coloured socks - they were in a pack of 'emergency stuff' you get in hospital (toothbrush, toothpaste and socks) - had them over a year now and I'll never wear them so had the idea of doing ''sock jam''........roll them up and put them in a little jar. Googled to see if there's any special way and can only find stuff about doing it with baby socks. The socks I've got are very plain and wasn't sure whether to add something to it put not a clue what........unless I just pop some soap in the jar to make it a more interesting pressie.I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

she grinch = hadn't thought of that -don't think I've got anything colourful enough though.
Got some socks from the market today in shades of creams and browns for 'cup of socks' -they'll go in the cups with coffee cups on them. The jazzy colour cups are taller ...........have to have real think.
Meanwhile........racking my brain to think what to do with a little plastic lined hessian bag I had a baby tree delivered in..........other than a 'santa sack' I can't think of anything.
.....
Plant some bulbs in to give to someone? Mini herb garden for a gourmet? It's have to go on a tray/ saucer or outside but it'd look lovely! Just the sort of thing my mum would love. They call me Dr Worm... I'm interested in things; I'm not a real doctor but I am a real worm.0 -
lego - that would be a lovely idea but I don't think its wide enough...........its about the size of a kitchen roll middle if you know what I mean.
It would take one herb I'd think and as it's plastic lined it would hang on a hook outside...........oh if I'm not careful I'll talk myself into keeping it............it's the sort of thing I wish someone would buy me and never does...........lolI would be unstoppable if only I could get started !
