I am so gutted, just sold this on Ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110334750308 not happy with the price it went for. I was hoping that putting on a low starting bid would have got more bids but it was not meant to be.

Soapie - looking at the outside photos, is there any of you garden above the damp-proof course, cos if the soil level is higher than it the damp will come through the wall above it.

Not much flying today, have managed to do chilli for tea, but I'm leaving some of the jobs for tomorrow morning as I am not at work tomorrow (dentist 11.30)

Off to put on WM (I asked OH to look at the upstairs radiators so he decided to bleed them - he sprayed water all over MY side of the bedroom and now I have to wash all the towels he used to mop it up:rotfl: )
  • Just looked at my post - - why have I put exclamation marks before cat was supposed to type !!!!!cat. My minds all over the place today - sorry mudbath x

it's the word pu55y - stupid I know but I suppose the computer doesn't know how you were using it...;)

I offered to have the daughter of one of my fellow students if she has trouble getting a sitter.. her daughter is 9 so will be fine fitting in with my brood.. Or if it is a night we are both in college she can come stay here with hubby and my brood I'm sure htey'll get along sure enough. I also.. probably an insane thing to say but her 2 sons are much older, 1 is in the army and the other is moving out and the uni she is going to is out of town.. I said her daughter can come here after school once she gets to uni if she wants. She doesn't have any family as such and if it means she can get through uni it is worth it.. it's only 2 years so not too drastic.. and I usually end up with extras anyway!
That really is a wonderful thing to do pigpen, you will probably never know how much it means to her. I would have loved someone to have mine after school, ect when I was going to do that - I was going to college in southend, but wouldn't have been back to get kids from school in time - we could have had a childminder, but because I wouldn't have been working we couldn't afford it - although I did have a SIL and MIL just around the corner, I still had no-one who would do it!!!

Where can I buy those sheet things you put at the bottom of the oven to catch the stuff that falls?
I just use tinfoil, but I THINK I've seen them in Mr T's...

Greenbee and Pigpen - thanks - I've a nasty feeling it's not the guttering! It's wet again this evening rather than slightly damp as it was this morning. I've added a pic below just in case there are any experts on here. The damp/wet bit is the darker coloured bit just above the skirting board

And here's the pic of the damp - the dark curvy bit above the skirting board... Any clues anyone?
That's definitly coming from the ground and up through the brickwork soappie - it could still be the guttering as if it's soaking the ground outside that is exactly what would happen or a pipe could have burst outside - with this freezing weather and the way it has suddenly happened, that could be the cause. Hope you can find it soon... Hugs hun x :A

Not much flying done today, but I have done loads of running around and sorted out loads of stuff, so have been quite good, although the house looks a total mess.

Got a bit sidetracked after my HHCs as the kids came back from swimming - DD has passed her test - DS hasn't but he did really well and wasn't expected to pass.

    However, in my HHCs I:

Cleaned oven shelves which had been soaking in the bath all day.
Put dishes away which I washed yesterday
    Washed more dishes
    Cleaned oven and hob!!!!

Am sooooooo knackered, DS1 has really worn me out physically and mentally today. He's so bright and is constantly talking/questioning/wanting to be shown things...
I'm thinking he really is ready for preschool now!

I got sidetracked from list and did the toy corner and the boys room (inc book and toy boxes) so I got quite a lot done (just not a lot from the list) and managed to clean the bathroom a bit while DS1 played with the sink!
Did a LOT in our room last week so trimmed the list a bit.

  • Good Evening Everyone

I have reading your posts and you all seem to have been very busy today. I have been fairly busy and have certainly done more than I would normally do but not sure how much I can achieve when I go back to work on Monday.

It all sort of petered out after my disappointing GP appointment as he won't refer me to a consultant.

    Monday - living room/hall/stairs
    Level One
    clear the hallway and stairs
    Level Two
    Vacuum the stairs..
Sort through coats and shoes and bag
Sort through the drawer or cupboard that you stuff junk in! - no way - needed to shove more stuff in there as had visitor yesterday!
    Level Three
Check smoke alarms.. change any batteries that need doing
    [strike]Dust the flat surfaces[/strike]
    Extras
    1. [strike]Buy coal [/strike]
Tuesday - Kitchen and Dining day
    Level One
[strike]Clear and wipe the work surfaces
    [/strike]
    Level Two
    Clean the oven and hob.
[strike]Wipe the fronts of appliances and cupboards
    [/strike]
    Level Three
Scrub the sink and shine the taps
    Mop the floor
clean out a cupboard.. whichever you fancy..
    Extras
    1. Wash the windows and[strike] sills [/strike]
    2. [strike]Wipe out the fridge[/strike]
    3. Run the WM through a clean cycle.. clean filters and door seals first! + TD filters and water tank + empty dehumidifer
    4. [strike]dust living room[/strike]
    5. [strike]refit glass shelf under tv[/strike] - manic cat knocked it down last week
    6. HHI
    7. Sort one bag that was shoved in utility room due to impending visitor (does anyone else do this?)
    8. 15mins paperwork
    9. [strike]GP appointment[/strike] - preparing myself for a fight.... ok maybe an arguement then - not really a violent person!
    10. [strike]light fire and S/S the hearth[/strike] (DS lit fire yesterday - great but he tends to liberally salt everywhere with ash)
    11. Sort out plant that still manic cat decided to knock off the dresser later last night - broke the plant pot - not a happy person having to hoover at 11.30pm as cat trying to eat soil - wierd
    12. [strike]Water other plants[/strike]
Plan to do some ironing tonight when watchng most haunted and have managed to cook a proper dinner - chicken casserole - its just very late as still has 20mins to go but baked spuds in there too.
Will also try to do some paper work as have two huge drawers in filing cabinet full of unsorted bits. Other jobs will have to waiting until tomorrow.

hope you all have a good evening and thankyou for your inspiration!
