Weekly Flylady Thread 12th January 2009

Afternoon all
Being an oldie on here I see both sides. Some of the chat has got a bit OTT recently and I can see that is off putting to newbies. I just skim over it myself unless I feel like sitting down with a cuppa for a catchup. However, if we lost the personal side of the thread, the sharing of snippets of our lives then the thread would loose heart and soul and that would mean lots of flyladies would fly away. We've been here before (several times) and it will sort itself out.
Toots - you promised me you'd do the ebay challenge this week which is definitely part of flylady - decluttering and moneysaving - making cash so don't you dare disappear on me!
Today I have:
recycled the christmas tree
been to Morrisons (after meal planning)
returned smoothie which was off to Morrisions (money saving)
ran an errand for Nan
put shopping away
washed bathmat
hoovered all of downstairs
Need to find my list now.The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Hi everyone, you are all doing so well! I really want to join in :xmastree: - not sure how I will get on today though as I am off work with a virus. I have started a load of washing and cleaned my teeth for the first time since friday! Gross I know, but everytime I got out of bed I thought I was going to faint!
Watching Supernanny now, as this always makes me want to do housework! Don't know why! So sometimes what you are watching on TV is relevant to this thread
See you later, I hope I will be able to do some of today's list."Snowflakes are one of nature's most fragile things, but just look what they can do when they stick together."

I've gloss painted one side of a shelf from the little bedroom we're decorating. When it dries I'll do the other side.
I don't belong to Facebook or Yahoo so I'll miss the chat but I don't want to risk the thread being culled.
this was nearly like having friends, I don't have any in real life. Ah well.0 -

If I can explain - it is the 'family' of people on here that has got my house clean and has got me believing that I can do stuff - no small feat I can tell you. My friends are far and wide, but here you are all in the same room as me with a coffee and a hug, and you are a bit part of that Toots - DO NOT DISAPPEAR PLEASE - we all need you!
Totally agree with you Flower it is the encouragement from everyone on this thread that makes all the housework seem worthwhile, I 'need' someone to notice the effort I have made...& Toots we love you:A“Cancer has my body but not my spirit, and I’ll continue to make jokes, not so much about cancer, but in spite of it” Irwin Barker0 -

I completly understand about the 'less chatting' point and this does come up a couple of times a year. However (you knew there would be a however:rotfl: ) from a personal point of view it's the chat and support that's kept me going over the past year (especially the last five weeks). I wouldn't be doing anywhere near as much flying right now without everyones support. So, here's what i've managed today and remember you can't shout at me for doing too much unless you post a list too and have COMPLETED some of it :rotfl: :
[STRIKE]
- washing load x 2
- drying load x 1 (on the radiators and dryer)
- washed roasting tin from yesterdays roasties
- been to the shops to by one bargain birthday present to put with stash
- sorted out two trugs full of wet clothes in utility room (why does DH leave them in here!!)
- sorted out online banking for business account
- loading dishwasher and set it going
[/STRIKE]
Slightly more than I'd normally do at the moment but despite DH trying hard and doing a lot this place is starting to look like a pit. We transferred some cinefilm to the dvd last night and although the house is better decorated now it was totally clutter free back then apart from children's toys. So, my mission is to declutter and tidy every room before I start work again (11th March). I'll do it slow and steady and becareful but i'll get it done!!
Hugs to all - toots and toochoosey you are banned from disappearing!!
Tip of the day - burn one of those smelly candles you got for christmas, it will make the house smell nice AND help with your decluttering!0 -
For anyone who wants to we do have a weekly chat thread for now on facebook - not sure about yahoo - I always forget my sign-in details there. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0
