  • I tried to join in where I could last week,How on eatrh do you read all the posts? There are not enough hours in the day.Do we go back over all the rooms we have done before every week?I only ask as I live in a big old house (have diningroom, dinining hall,consevatoty,4 bathrooms and 6 bedrooms) and no help so will not get round it all.If the climate was better we would seriously think about moving somewhere smaller as we only have one child left at home (and a part time one -student),although we always have visitors -2 at the moment, and let rooms to actors, dancers from time to time.Oh and I un my own business and work full time as well as studying part time. Before you ask I only sleep about 5 hours a night!!!:hello::hello:

    Happy Birthday Heather

Just need to do some ironing before work and then will attempt to do the rest of the list when I get in.

Got a pantomine a school today - wonder if I'll be allowed to watch it or if I'll be found another job to do as normal!

    Have a good day all

  • Stupid question #2... I love all this thanking people business (how much nicer the real world would be if it was like this!)... but whats it all about? Are the thanks buttons like votes or rarings or something?

The person with the least thanks at the end of the week gets evicted!:rotfl:

    Morning all

I got too tired to wait for the TD to finish last night, so it is on now, should get the school fleeces done in time!

I need to nip out and get cards for Miss A from W and I, will also have a quick mooch round while I am on my own :)

Then I need to try and get on with the list and get on with my tax return and wtc update. Been putting these off for ages, no idea why really!

Well, there's at least 3 hours you can spend catching up!!!...

Only joking, you sound manic busy, no wonder you're looking for a 'system'.

    Two things:
    a) don't worry about catching up - ONLY read the posts if you want to or have time - when I'm working I am only usually able to read the last couple of pages posted - if that sometimes, the whole point of this thread is to help you get organised and save you time - not make you spend all your time on here. When I joined there were about 80 people on the thread, now there is over 200 on the list - plus in January everyone wants to make a change and there is always more at this time of year, so it is really busy - hence Pigpens new note on the first post now.
    b) The same rooms come around every week usually in a different order - do what you can on the days you can - each week you will see an improvement.

Before this thread I used to spend my time tidying, then tidying and then just tidying some more - just getting rid of surface stuff because that was all I had the time/inclination to do. Now, because of small bits here and there each week, I know that there is not an extra dog living under my sofas made up from left-over hair from the 2 dogs we have, I can see out of my windows and the cupboard under my sink does not have science projects growing in it.
Small steps as Toots says, does get you there. So concentrate on your business and just try to do some HHC's when you can (it's amazing how much you can get done in half an hour with some good music on in the background to cheer you on...)

I have found this thread gives me motivation and also ideas to keep me on top of what I have to do - instead of sitting down when I get in I quickly do something, when making tea in the kitchen, instead of standing by the kettle waiting for it to boil, I clean my sink/wipe down the hob - I used to be so tired I couldn't get myself to do stuff, I am still tired, but it just gets done now.

Sorry, I am rambling on, but I really hope that helps. Take care x
