There are quite a few teachers on here. I'm a primary school teacher myself. Chamichelle is a secondary science teacher but she is on maternity leave at the moment. Serena is a secondary languages teacher, Valli is a primary teacher, Froddington is a special needs teacher, there are quite a few TAs on here too, and my mind has gone blank but I'm sure that there is another teacher on here too. Apologies to anyone I've missed. I know nicki is training in school at the moment, but don't know if it's to be a TA or a teacher.
Wow! I didn’t realise there were so many teachers on here. I teach secondary maths. I’m almost caught up on the thread between marking. A bit more catching up than marking. I will organise my self for tom and get to bed.

    Morning All happy flying.

    6. Sort out paperwork that needs to be dealt with
    7. Go to Mums and upload office on her new computer and transfer all her old stuff to new computer too.
    Business/Club Stuff
    1. Find supplier for fabric for Kath
    2. Get curtains and poles for the Limes
    3. Print off photos of all committee members and put in frame
    4. Chase up playschool stuff
    5. Come up with ideas that will bring money into club
    6. Make a poster and print some off to put up around club for VO
    7. Do poster/stuff for S/Forum for their website (check dates/times of all stuff)

  • This is a bit off topic, but is something that I have on my list, and I know how helpful everyone is so I thought I'd ask you all for your opinion...

I am on the committee of a local community club (it's a bit like a working mans club) that is like most things at the moment, going through hard times. We run small things for the members in our members lounge like discos, fun nights for the kids, etc., and we have a big hall (holds approx 200 people) that we rent out weekends for weddings/parties, ect and evenings for Karate classes/keep fit/ etc... and a smaller, upstairs hall that we rent out too (holds approx 60 people)

Trouble is we're not getting many hall bookings now and as people are cutting back, the club is literally just ticking over, but there are so many repairs to do and we just are just not able to raise the funds to do them (need new boiler, etc) and really need to raise a 'regular' income to help with all the stuff that we need to do.

Anyway, that's the general gist - what I wondered was if anyone could think of anything we could use our halls for during the day? We are looking at running a playschool, but the cost to set up will be big and we're not sure whether we'll be able to yet as we're waiting for the council to come round.

If anyone has any ideas (none will be laughed at, we are desperate) please PM me as anything you can think of will be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys, you are all wonderful x :A

    Morning all!

Got up just to take kid's school jumpers out of the machine to dry as I forgot last night. Weird being up early so I've come back to bed!

Just going to do basics and my bedroom today. May as well get one room tidy! :D
Fluttering about an inch off the ground, I may fly properly one day and soar in the clouds!

Back OT - going to clean my oven shelves tomorrow too :o

Hi ya Homespun. Yes as greenbee says, it is me the cleans my oven everyday because....... it's one of the things I loath doing and it got so bad at one point that I was seriously thinking of paying one of those professional oven cleaning companies to do it but............ then I found the old style board and started looking through the threads.

Don't know if it's of any help to you but -

To clean your oven shelves/racks. Fill your bath with really hot water and soda crystals. Just enough to cover the shelves and leave to soak for a good half hour at least. Longer is better. The muck should just slide off. You might need to use a scourer for any really bad bits.;)

Oven itself, I spent a whole day with Stardrops, cillit bang, soda crystals you name it I used it and a metal scourer or two. It really was that bad. Eventually after alot, and I mean alot, of elbow grease it came up like new.;)

To keep on top of it once it's clean - all I do now is each time it's been used and whilst it's still warm. I give it all a good squirt with a 50/50 white vinegar and water solution. Leave for 5 or 10 mins and then just wipe it out. It works a treat and I never ever have to 'clean it';)

    Hope that helps.

Right I must go to work now. Be back mid morning ish to join in with some flying I hope. Will post my list later.

Oh and morning to everyone :hello:
