Naturally politeness is to be commended and is more likely to get a result. My point however is why a person who appears not to have noticed he is getting a good deal should be better treated than one who has spotted the deal and is politely insisting that it be honoured.

Politely insisting is fine, it's rudely demanding that I have a problem with.

..............anyone been in today and how is it now worded, if still available??

Been in my local tesco this morning to look.

Signs say... any starter plus any main course plus any desert plus ANY bottle of wine. I didn't try my luck with the offer only because most of the food had gone, thus the choice was dire.

Its more of an annoyance when people think they can take advantage of obvious mistakes. Yes everyone will scream at me "how am I supposed to know," but it wouldn't wash with me, if a customer was pretty genuine then in the interests of customer service I'd allow them a bottle, but picking up a £15 bottle is a bit extreme.

my point is how can he tell the genuine customers from the ones who are trying to take advantage? and even then is it really acceptable to let one person have it because they 'look' genuine but then refuse another:confused:

surely CG19a wouldn't have a problem if his store was run properly and the POS removed as soon as the mistake was picked up, or not put out in the first place ;)

like i said before, i believe tesco has more than likely profited from this error in POS, think of all the people who haven't noticed they have paid the full price for all items supposed to be in the deal

The sign has been taken down in my local store. I think they have noticed their discrepancy.

Surely if the powers-that-be at Tesco's were concerned about people taking advantage of this offer they would have advised all the stores to remove the signs by now. I'm sure that many of the staff who have read this thread have contacted their store, and Tesco's should have a good communication system, so they can't complain if people are taking advantage now.

Given that the last time I had a tesco finest meal (lasagne) I found a TOOTH in it, I won't be taking up this bargain! Even though I personally would love to rip off Tesco given their customer service took 6 months to apologise about the tooth incident!

    Yuk!

I don't think I will bother, hardly seems worth it unless you pick up an expensive bottle (or six) and are prepared to argue that wine includes champagne.

Don't get me wrong, I have had my fair share of free games consoles & games, clothing, food you name it from Tesco in the past when they had the lovely R&R policy in place. :D

Think I may stick to M&S who are apparently repeating their 'Dine for £10' offer and who accept their £5 off £25 food conditional spend vouchers without quibble (of course). You know the ones, Tesco managers, those M&S vouchers which Tesco are also supposed to be accepting according to Dundee (even though it's well known that M&S vouchers don't scan in T). But they are not accepted in stores when you spend £25 on food in Tesco and try to use one??

I know which seems the better bargain (and the better food) this time...
