They basically put you on the highest mins/most commission tarrif that's where they make more money and give your more cashback, but it only works out cheaper if you downgrade after six months to the lowest tarrif possible so you won't get many mins.
I wouldn't go for this type of deal cos you get six good months and six bad months if you are going to use the phone alot

But, they said there is no cashback with this deal, and no money is taken from my account.

Is that right ? i find that hard to believe

they said they are offering a 1p per month offer with 500 free x-net minutes on orange. They said i have to just pay 1p a month and then just downgrade the contract after 6 months

they said you downgrade the contract to 90 minutes per month after 6 months, but the price is still free.

So is it Free or 1p a month??

  • sorry about consusion, they take 1p a month from the back account for the 12 month contract, but that is it

so it would only cost 12p for the whole contract, but there is no cashback redemption offers as are normally associated with these offers

How is that possible - you mean Orange would take only 1p instead of 25 or 30 pounds from your account and no cashback is involved?

I also find it hard to believe, wouldn't it cost them more to set and maintain the DD than they would actually be taking?

I'm keen on getting a new phone pay monthly from onestopphoneshop. They've been calling me every day this month to get me to take out a new contract, and saying that they will be changing on 1st Feb.

I'm after a K750i - do you think it's worth waiting til Wednesday?

Could you not get the best deal on that phone today/tomorrow and then send it back if better deals come out on Wed (I think you get about a week cooling-off period to change your mind - check the website). Then if the deals get worst at least you won't regret not buying it, and you've got the option of getting it better.

Also use 1 of the cashback sites to get a further £10-£20 off/rebate, plus if you order online you can print off the pages, and as apart from them changing the deal(phone order).
