I make a really lovely tray of quiche. I make it on puff pastry and fry onion and bacon but you can use whatever. I then mix two tubs of half fat creme fraiche with some eggs (3/4), pour over and then top with cheese. Cook and delicious xxI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
I do a lovely, simple bacon and egg traybake. Line the tray with shortcrust pastry, fry off a packet of cooking bacon/bacon scraps then sprinkle them over the pastry. Crack a load of eggs over the bacon until it's filled about 3/4 the way up the side, use a knife to break and swirl the yolks (you can whisk the eggs in a jug and pour them on but I like to just gently swirl the yolks into the whites). Put the pastry lid on and bake. I normally do this if I've got lots of eggs to use up.Dum Spiro Spero0

Two possible reasons...
Some folks write it as two separate words - tray . bakes
While others write it as one - traybakes
Those are two different searches.
Alternatively - since the default look back time for searches is only one month - you will miss an awful lot of useful threads here on Old Style.

Hiya,
I made mars bar cake (http://www.nigella.com/recipes/view/mars-bar-cake-1847) the other day, and it went down really well.
I have a spare half hour or so with some rare energy and nothing to fill it with, so I was going to try and make something vaguely similar...
I have:
Porridge oats
Bran flakes
Marshmallow Fluff
Golden Syrup
Peanut butter
Butter.
If I melted the Fluff, PB, butter and a bit of syrup in a pan and mixed in oats and bran flakes, then chilled in tray, would it stick together ok and give something tasty enough?:rotfl: We don't have much money to last until the end of the month so don't really want to buy any more ingredients.
I also can't afford to "just give it a go" because I can't afford to waste ingredients:o
So does that sound ok?
Thanks guys

Yeah, you can make flapjacks or something similar. Just test in a small cooking atray and then if it works you can make more lovely treats. If not, you haven't wasted anything, and you wont use so much food.0
