large block of choc melted add tin of condensed milk ( keep some back to lick out!) and a pack of biscuits ginger biscuit size about half a pack digestives. could also use nice, shortbread, rich tea, put them in a plastic bag and bash them into little bits with a rolling pin! great fun add to choc and cond milk then put in tray and chill. i put clingfilm in tray first to make taking out easier. cut into small pieces as its very rich. been making this for 30 yrs!! eek
Do you heat the condensed milk with the chocolate or add it cold to the melted chocolate? I only ask because I put some cold cream into melted chocolate and it went all yukky. I used to LOVE Why Don't You? when I was a kid!Jane

If you add any liquid to melted chocolate it seizes it up. You need to put the condensed milk with the chocolate before melting it. Was this on Why Don't You? I used to love it too!0 -
Does anybody know of a traybake recipe for something like Kellogs Elvenses bars please? DD1 loves them but I only buy them when they are on a really good ofeer as they are so expensive (yummy though!), i'd love to be able to make my own for her0

I've done a search in the indexed collections ... but just keep getting single recipes. Can anyone point me to a thread with several traybake recipes and ideas, please.
Thanks.
Edit to say ... I found the thread.... so this one can be deleted.
Cheers.:beer:0 -
Hi Trishh,
I've added your post to the main traybakes thread so that you can find it more easily.

Not sure what the Kelloggs Elevenses bars are like but have you tried Twinks hobnobs. I know some people have done them as traybakes. See post 4 on this thread.
Yes we are big fans of Twinks fabulous Hob Nobs (I am slightly addicted!)
Elevenses are like an oaty moist sponge cake, I might try adding a little bit of golden syrup and some oats to a standard cake mix and see what that turns out like then tweak it..0 -
