    For any particular show?

I have used broadwaybox.com previously for cheap tickets, and you print them out over here so no queue'ing etc.

    Hi, everyone,
I guess this year is the year I am going to NY!!! :j

I have spent the afternoon reading and reading and searching and searching... I guess I still have many afternoons like this ahead of me! But I have one quick question for the more experienced MSEs concerning flights.

I would like to travel end of July / early August from London with the restriction that we really need to be in NY in 2-5 August for a conference.

I have not been able to find any offers for July August, other than Virgin and the cheapest price I am getting is £420 from London. According to markymoo's guide, this is not a good price.
Flights to NYC - A Quick Guide
    Direct Flight = £000 - £300 = 5* | £300 - £350 = 4* | £350 - £400 = 3* | £400 - £450 = 2* | £450 - £500 = 1* | Over £500 = 0*
Over £500 for a return flight isn't money saving, this is just a guide, and is my opinion only!

So, if someone can help me, thanks in advance. Based on past experience,

    - if I wait a few weeks, will there be offers for those dates?
    - is 420 a good price for those dates?
    - any tips on how to save with flights?

A long shot, but if one of you has thought of this perhaps it can save me some time. I thought that given that NY is always popular and I do not not the rest of the US (other than LA and LV) or Canada, is there a cheap destination I can travel to and then fly or take a train/ drive to NY? Even if this is slightly (:p) more expensive, I wouldn't mind since I would see 2 places instead of just NY. Any tips?

    TIA.

    PS: I'll be back!! :rotfl:

Thanks for the reply. I have now edited my post to add I am flying from London.

I don't think I will be able to wait until mid May. I am an anxious person :o!!!! I was really looking for a promo to start shortly, since Virgin already have promo prices for July and August.

If you think £420 isn't a bad price for the summer, I'm starting to feel tempted by that price.

Well I know Marky works on the 3 month rule for flights and I've got good deals leaving it slightly later than that so I would wait if you can - first trip i went in Jan paid £280 this time going in April (which should be more expensive) but have paid £220 with Virgin...

I suspect they will lose lots of summer flights this year with families not being able to go away so there should be some cheap deals around soon...

Mako, we're going tomorrow, and FWIW I can't see the point of taking the subway when the taxi doesn't cost so much

See some of the links at the start of the thread for pre-bookable taxi's (forgotten the name, but I'll be booking it myself once I've had a coffee and woken up)

Not quite a NYC question, but what would folks suggest as the best / nicest way to get to Washington from NYC??
