    Mortgage-free Glee!
52nd & 3rd (give or take)some great buildings around you looking at that pic of the lipstick you are underneath the citigroup building (the one with the sloped roof) good location and a block from the subway on lexington battery) wall street or harlem in 15 minutes. The plane looked half full ?? from Bristol ?? they need to reduce prices or they may lose half the service.

And brilliant photos dont worry about the rain

Only 9 more sleeps! Thanks for the fab responses back on Page 29, I hugely appreciate your time.

Hmmm, how high is too high ... the eiffel's too high (and it blows in the wind!); any cliffs with sheer drops are too high and cable cars are an absolute no-no!! Strangely though, I've been in a helicopter (sea-king variety) and that didn't bother me because it was over water!

Basically, I'd love to go to the foyer of the empire state, but you couldn't pay me enough to go up it (9/11 fear probably) and I never take a room in a hotel above the 7th floor because the firemens hoses don't reach any further!! We're staying just off Times Square!

Definite wishes on the itinerary are:

    Staten Island
    Rockefellar Centre (with ice-skating)
A guided bus tour (which is the best - both guide books recommend different ones!)
Ground Zero and the Finance District (just to get the Wall Street photo!)
Central Park Walk / maybe carriage ride
    MoMA
    History Museum
    Library (just to peek!)
Definite Broadway Show - but which one???

And I'm starting to get a desire for this Top Rock garden from your hints and tips.

I was thinking of taking about $750 plus a credit card (Ab Zero) for just in cases.

One of my desperate wishes is to find somewhere that sells Ghiradelli Chocolate (like the shop in Orlando near the Disney stores) which I can't find in the UK! If anyone knows if there is one, I might kiss you!!!

I'm now off to read the First Post, but if there's anything else you think I should absolutely not miss (first visit) please let me know

Oh I know what you mean about the Eiffel Tower, so blooming windy and so old. Top of the Rock is fab, its very big up there, loads of space and there are very tall glass panels in front of you, very safe. And the most amazing views. Go on. :D

I am terrified of hights and it just makes me sick thinking of it (even looking at heights on Tv turn my stomach).
But I think I made the effort to travel all the way to New York, and height fear aint going to stand in my way to go to the top of the rock or ESB... And the Rock is soooooooo much better than the ESB!

Not sure what the guide books are saying with regards to bus tours however I can thoroughly recommend http://www.newyorkpartyshuttle.com/ . We did the NY See it All tour and really did to get to see it all. We did it on our first day in New York which gave us our bearings and meant we knew which places we wanted to go back and see in more detail. The buses and groups are fairly small so its a fairly personal tour and our tour guide was really good.

We booked online and it was all very smooth.
  • hello all!

Just wanted to thank you for your amazing help prior to my trip. I arrived back on saturday and can safely say without exageration that I had the best week of my life so far. A truly unforgettable experience and I'm now pretty set on moving to New York within five years :)

I made this video and just thought i'd share it with you guys since it was your efforts that helped make my trip such a life altering success :)

My highlight was seeing the knicks play the san antonio spurs and I would highly advise anyone to watch the knicks for just $30 !! I'm now a very much onverted basketball fan.
Also visited the UN and found it really interesting and a sinch at only $8 for a tour.
My other highlight was probablly union square which is really good for a student vibe - though watch out for the crazies in the starbucks!

Hi I am looking to get Knicks tickets for 4th April but the prices are key high - was you game at Madison SG? If so, where did you get your tickets for $30 and was it a good view? THanks
