hahahah NO! LOL its just that the hotels there seem mighty pricey too!!! :rotfl:

I dont mind how far we go- really.

For example when we driove from Vegas, we went into death valley. So a few hours away is totally fine. This time becauwse they are scheduled flights we can do more than 7 days, so we can do 14- 17 whatever- we can drive a biut further. But its going to be a pricey one and am looking for somewhere a bit "budget" ( like death valley eg motels around 40 quid PN) I really wish OH hadnt taken the USA lonely planet back to the library!!
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.

Has anyone managed to get an upgrade for some kind of special occasion and if so how did you do it?

Yup you get an upgrade by telling the check in person you want to pay for an upgrade then hand the money over and eh voila an upgrade!!!!!

I too am looking at these Virgin flights and have the cheapest ones in my reserved basket.

im thinking of trying to tailor in 2 weeks, a few days in NYC but then on somewhere else. ( dont think we can afford 2x weeks in NYC on hotels  ) I would REALLY like beach time- aside from the hamptons where are the best areas to find beaches and what will weather be like mid may? Hi, I'm considering the hamptons or ocean city.I don't know much about
either. They came up in a search for beaches. How did you find the hamptons as I heard they are brilliant beaches.Thanks.

Ive not bneen to the hamptons this is the first time we will have been to NY ( if we go!) but atm im finding some v expensive hotel prices and i fear this trip is over before its booked as I cant justify spending 600 quid on 4 nights accom ( around and about)

we were in Vegas earlier in the year and got some fab accom for cheap- alas NYC seems all too different!

Then I am going to NOT recommend Wildwood. Unless you have teenagers you want to lose on the Boardwalk. The hotel we were in was about the same price as the Cosmo but nowhere near as good, and someone on the previous thread described it as like "the armpit of Blackpool". I would not disagree ...

Cape May was far more civilised, if a bit twee, but I expect the hotels there were even dearer.
